Which companies in Nebraska sponsor visas for analytics engineers?
Omaha-based employers are the most active sponsors for analytics engineer roles in Nebraska. Mutual of Omaha, First National Bank of Omaha, Union Pacific Railroad, and Charles Schwab (following its TD Ameritrade acquisition) have each filed H-1B petitions for data and analytics positions. Healthcare organizations like CHI Health and Nebraska Medicine also maintain data engineering teams that have sponsored visa holders.
What visa types are most common for analytics engineer roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for analytics engineers in Nebraska, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, statistics, or a related field. F-1 graduates from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln or Creighton University may work under OPT or STEM OPT before an employer files an H-1B petition. L-1B transfers apply when candidates move from a foreign affiliate of a Nebraska-based employer.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most analytics engineer sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the large majority of analytics engineer sponsorship activity in Nebraska. Its concentration of financial services, insurance, logistics, and healthcare employers creates consistent demand for data professionals. Lincoln is a secondary market, supported by state government agencies, the University of Nebraska system, and a smaller but growing technology sector. Outside these two cities, sponsorship opportunities are limited.
How to find analytics engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship status, making it straightforward to find analytics engineer roles in Nebraska where employers are actively willing to sponsor. Rather than sorting through general postings, you can focus on Omaha and Lincoln employers in finance, insurance, and healthcare who have a documented history of H-1B filings for data and analytics positions. Migrate Mate is built for international candidates navigating exactly this search.
Are there any Nebraska-specific considerations for analytics engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
Nebraska's Department of Labor prevailing wage determinations influence what employers must pay sponsored analytics engineers, and those figures are set at the county level, meaning Omaha and Lincoln rates differ from rural counties. The University of Nebraska-Lincoln produces a steady pipeline of data science graduates, which means entry-level competition is real. Candidates with experience in financial services data infrastructure or healthcare analytics tend to align most closely with Nebraska's dominant sponsoring industries.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored analytics engineer jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
