Which companies sponsor visas for clinical research professionals in Nebraska?
The University of Nebraska Medical Center is the most active sponsor for clinical research roles in Nebraska, given its size and research portfolio. Bryan Health and CHI Health also hire for sponsored positions. Contract research organizations with Nebraska operations, including smaller regional CROs supporting pharmaceutical trials, have sponsored H-1B and J-1 visas for research coordinators, data managers, and regulatory affairs professionals.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most clinical research sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the large majority of clinical research sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by UNMC's substantial research enterprise and the concentration of health systems in the metro area. Lincoln is the second most active market, with Bryan Health and University of Nebraska-Lincoln research programs generating openings. Smaller research sites exist in Kearney and Grand Island, but sponsorship there is rare.
Which visa types are most common for clinical research roles in Nebraska?
H-1B is the most common visa for clinical research coordinators, clinical data managers, and regulatory specialists, as these roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant scientific field, meeting the specialty occupation standard. J-1 visas are also used for research scholars and postdoctoral researchers at academic institutions like UNMC. TN visas apply to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying research roles.
How to find clinical research visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate lets you filter clinical research jobs specifically to Nebraska and view only employers who have a demonstrated history of visa sponsorship. This saves significant time compared to applying broadly and asking about sponsorship after the fact. Clinical research coordinator and clinical trial associate roles at Nebraska health systems and CROs appear on Migrate Mate when sponsorship-eligible positions are posted statewide.
Are there state-specific considerations for clinical research sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Nebraska's clinical research hiring is heavily tied to the UNMC ecosystem, which means many sponsored positions are grant-funded and tied to specific trial timelines. Candidates should be aware that grant-dependent roles may have fixed contract durations affecting visa renewals. UNMC also has an established international hiring infrastructure, making it more experienced at navigating the H-1B process than smaller Nebraska employers who may sponsor infrequently.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored clinical research jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
