Which companies sponsor visas for directors of projects in Nebraska?
Kiewit Corporation, one of the largest construction and engineering firms in North America, is headquartered in Omaha and has a documented history of sponsoring work visas for senior project leadership roles. Other notable sponsors include Mutual of Omaha, Nebraska Medicine, and Sandhills Global. These employers regularly file H-1B visa petitions for director-level project management positions requiring specialized expertise.
Which visa types are most common for director of projects roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for director of projects roles in Nebraska, as these positions typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in project management, engineering, or a related field, satisfying the specialty occupation requirement. Candidates with extraordinary achievement in their field may also qualify for the O-1A. Those transferring within a multinational organization may be eligible for the L-1A managerial visa.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most director of projects sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the majority of director of projects sponsorship activity in Nebraska, driven by its concentration of corporate headquarters in construction, insurance, and healthcare. Lincoln also generates consistent demand, particularly through state government contractors, the University of Nebraska system, and technology firms. Outside these two cities, sponsorship opportunities are significantly less common given the more rural distribution of Nebraska's economy.
How to find director of projects visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to search for director of projects roles in Nebraska without sifting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces employers actively willing to sponsor, which is especially useful in Nebraska where sponsorship is concentrated among a smaller set of larger employers in Omaha and Lincoln rather than distributed broadly across the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for director of projects roles and visa sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska's sponsorship activity for director of projects positions is heavily influenced by its construction and engineering sector, anchored by firms like Kiewit that operate nationally but manage HR and legal functions centrally from Omaha. The University of Nebraska system also functions as a pipeline, occasionally sponsoring international project leaders through cap-exempt H-1B filings. Prevailing wage levels for director-level roles in Nebraska are generally lower than coastal markets, which affects Labor Condition Application filings but does not reduce sponsorship eligibility requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored director of projects jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
