Which insurance companies in Nebraska sponsor F-1 CPT visas?
Omaha-based insurers are the most active for F-1 CPT internships in Nebraska. Mutual of Omaha, Physicians Mutual, and Berkshire Hathaway's insurance subsidiaries have historically brought on intern and co-op talent. Smaller regional carriers and third-party administrators also participate, particularly for actuarial and data-focused roles. CPT authorization depends on your school's DSO approval and a formal offer tied to your degree program, not the employer alone.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most insurance F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs?
Omaha is by far Nebraska's primary market for insurance F-1 CPT jobs, given its concentration of national and regional carriers, corporate headquarters, and financial services firms. Lincoln is a secondary hub, especially for students at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, with opportunities at regional insurers and state government-affiliated insurance roles. Outside these two cities, CPT-eligible insurance positions are limited.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for F-1 CPT sponsorship in Nebraska?
Roles that align with degree programs in actuarial science, statistics, finance, computer science, or business administration are most commonly approved for CPT in Nebraska's insurance sector. Typical positions include actuarial intern, underwriting analyst, data analyst, risk management associate, and claims analyst. The key CPT requirement is that the position must be directly related to your major field of study, as determined by your university's DSO.
How do I find insurance F-1 CPT sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international students and filters jobs by visa type, including F-1 CPT, and by industry. You can search insurance roles in Nebraska directly, seeing only employers who have indicated sponsorship eligibility. This saves significant time compared to manually screening job postings. Combine Migrate Mate searches with direct outreach to Omaha-headquartered carriers, since some CPT-eligible internships are posted only on employer career pages.
Are there any Nebraska-specific considerations for F-1 CPT in the insurance industry?
Nebraska's Department of Insurance regulates the state's carriers, and some intern roles involving licensed insurance activities may require you to obtain a Nebraska producer license, even temporarily. CPT authorization must be active before your first day of work, and your internship offer letter should clearly state the role, dates, and connection to your academic program. Students at Creighton University or the University of Nebraska should confirm CPT eligibility with their DSO well before the semester in which the internship begins.
