INTRODUCTION
At Supportworks, we're transforming how contractors and homeowners connect and we're looking for a Lead QA Engineer to help us rebuild our QA function and shape how quality works at SolutionView. To help rebuild our in-house QA processes, we're hiring two QA engineers: a Lead QA Engineer (this role) and another QA Engineer who will work alongside you. You'll have the opportunity to define how QA works at SolutionView — process, tooling, standards, and culture, with real backing and the autonomy to do it well. If you've ever wanted to lead and shape a QA function rather than inherit one, this is the role for you! This role is hybrid and based in Papillion, NE. Initially, the role will require a heavier in-office presence for training and relationship-building. After ramp-up, the schedule is 3 days in office and 2 days work-from-home.
WHO WE ARE
Supportworks is more than a company, we’re a family of brands dedicated to transforming the contractor industry:
- Foundation Supportworks: A leader in foundation and concrete repair products, empowering a network of contractors across North America.
- SolutionView: A software innovator creating digital tools that redefine the contractor-homeowner experience.
WHAT YOU'LL WORK ON
- SolutionView Tablet — our mobile sales app, available on iPad and Android tablets, used by home service contractors from start to finish during customer appointments, often in spotty connectivity. iPad is our most common deployment today.
- Admin Site — a web platform where companies configure workflows, pricing, and product logic to enable their unique sales, installation, and service processes.
- Customer Portal — a web experience where homeowners review appointment details, history, and approve/sign for proposed work.
- Integrations across systems like CRMs and third-party tools.
Build the QA Function
- Define and document QA process, standards, and workflows from the ground up.
- Establish tooling and infrastructure for manual and automated testing.
- Set the bar for what “release-ready” means at SolutionView.
- Mentor and partner with our other QA Engineer hire.
Own Mobile & Web Quality
- Lead release quality across our tablet field app, web admin, customer portal, and integrations.
- Build a device coverage strategy (real devices, emulators, services like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs).
- Own offline-first testing — sync conflicts, intermittent connectivity, and the messy realities of field use.
- Validate UI/UX behavior, responsiveness, and system interactions across iOS/iPadOS, Android, and modern browsers.
Test Planning & Execution
- Design and execute manual test plans, regression suites, and scenario-based tests grounded in real customer workflows.
- Expand and harden automated coverage (we currently use Sofy.ai).
- Drive shift-left: ensure features are testable before development begins.
Bug Triage & Partnership
- Reproduce complex or inconsistent customer issues.
- Document clearly: steps to reproduce, expected vs. actual behavior, supporting evidence (logs, screenshots, recordings).
- Partner with developers, PMs, and Support to validate fixes and ship with confidence.
- Provide a QA perspective in our support channels.
Continuous Improvement
- Spot patterns across bugs and recommend systemic fixes — not just one-off solutions.
- Raise the floor for the whole team through better tools, better process, and shared standards.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 5+ years of QA experience across mobile and web applications.
- You've built or substantially rebuilt a QA function before — process, tooling, hiring, the whole thing.
- Strong mobile testing background, especially; iOS / iPadOS and Android (iPad is our most common deployment).
- Field-deployment realities: offline behavior, sync, device variability, intermittent connectivity.
- Web cross-browser testing experience.
- Comfort working in systems with configurable logic, conditional workflows, and data-driven behavior.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.
- Coaching and mentorship instincts as you'll be partnering with a QA Engineer who will work alongside you.
BONUS EXPERIENCE
- Test automation framework experience (Appium, XCUITest, Espresso, Playwright, Cypress, etc.).
- Experience with Sofy.ai or similar low-code automation platforms.
- Debugging with logs and basic data inspection (SQL, JSON, etc.).
- Experience testing apps used by reps in the field (offline states, sync issues, device variability).
- Experience hiring or scoping QA roles.
- Business analysis chops — gathering requirements, defining acceptance criteria, or writing user stories with PMs and stakeholders.
- Experience mapping customer workflows or business processes (BPMN, flowcharts, journey maps).
- Comfort facilitating requirement-gathering sessions with non-technical stakeholders.

Which companies in Nebraska sponsor visas for lead software engineers?
Fiserv, Hudl, Sandhills Global, PayPal, and Union Pacific are among the Nebraska-based employers with documented H-1B sponsorship activity for senior engineering roles. Larger financial technology and logistics firms in Omaha file the most petitions, while Lincoln's growing sports analytics and agtech sectors have also produced sponsorship activity for lead-level positions requiring specialized technical expertise.
Which visa types are most common for lead software engineer roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa for lead software engineers in Nebraska, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through intracompany transfers also fill senior engineering roles. O-1A petitions are filed in rarer cases for engineers with demonstrably extraordinary achievement.
How to find lead software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it practical to search for lead software engineer roles in Nebraska without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform surfaces openings from Omaha and Lincoln employers across fintech, agtech, and logistics sectors where senior engineering demand is concentrated, saving significant time compared to broad unfiltered job searches.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most lead software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the clear majority of lead software engineer sponsorship opportunities in Nebraska, driven by its established fintech corridor, major logistics companies, and firms like Fiserv and PayPal. Lincoln follows with sponsoring employers in sports technology and university-adjacent software companies. Outside these two cities, visa-sponsored senior engineering roles are uncommon given Nebraska's employer concentration pattern.
Are there any Nebraska-specific considerations for lead software engineer visa sponsorship?
Nebraska employers sponsoring H-1B workers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements for the Omaha and Lincoln metro areas, which are determined separately from national benchmarks. The University of Nebraska system produces a pipeline of computer science graduates that influences local hiring norms. Lead-level roles typically require demonstrating supervisory or architectural responsibility to satisfy specialty occupation requirements, which is worth clarifying with a prospective employer before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored lead software engineer jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
