INTRODUCTION
Looking to join our team? Here’s what we’re looking for!
If you’ve ever tuned suspension and felt the difference from a single adjustment, you already understand what this role is about. At Speedway Motors, our Product Engineers work hands-on with shocks and suspension components that directly shape how cars handle, respond, and perform on the road and track.
Just as important as the work we do is how we do it. Our core values guide everything—from how we collaborate as One Team to how we Choose Positivity, put People First, speak up because You Have a Voice, and stay Driven to Succeed. If that sounds like how you approach your work, we’d love to connect.
JOB OVERVIEW
As a Product Engineer focused on shock and suspension components, you’ll play a key role in designing, developing, and refining products that directly impact ride quality, handling, and overall vehicle performance. This role is involved across the full product lifecycle—from initial concept and design through production and real-world validation.
You’ll work closely with suppliers, Purchasing, Quality, and our in-house Machine Shop to determine optimal materials, valving approaches, and manufacturing methods. This role is critical in defining product specifications related to form, fit, and function, while ensuring production processes are clearly documented through CAD Bill of Material (BOM) drawings.
This isn’t just a desk role—you’ll get hands-on. From prototyping and testing shock and suspension components to supporting Team Speedway with vehicle setup and validation, you’ll help ensure our products perform where it matters most: on real cars.
Responsibilities
Here are the specifics:
- Support the development and production of high-quality shock and suspension components by evaluating materials, valving characteristics, and manufacturing processes.
- Design new suspension products and improve existing shock systems to enhance ride quality, handling, and durability.
- Create and modify designs using SolidWorks, incorporating tools such as CMM, 3D scanning, and 3D printing.
- Document and manage design changes within engineering systems and project files, including detailed BOM structures.
- Maintain accurate and organized engineering documentation, including revision history and product specifications.
- Review non-conforming products and determine root cause and appropriate disposition, with a focus on performance and reliability.
- Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Quality Control, Purchasing, and Manufacturing to ensure suspension products meet performance expectations and customer needs.
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure processes are efficient, repeatable, and aligned with product performance requirements.
- Analyze materials, labor, and production methods to reduce cost while maintaining or improving suspension performance.
- Perform hands-on testing and validation of shock and suspension prototypes, including fitment and functional evaluation.
- Support vehicle builds and testing with Team Speedway to validate product performance in real-world conditions.
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE such as safety glasses and safety shoes.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and follow through on commitments.
- Adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced, hands-on engineering environment.

Which companies sponsor visas for product engineers in Nebraska?
Nebraska employers with documented H-1B sponsorship histories in engineering roles include Nelnet, Union Pacific, Fiserv, and Sandhills Global, primarily based in Omaha and Lincoln. Larger financial technology and logistics companies in the state tend to have dedicated HR teams familiar with the sponsorship process, making them more likely to support international product engineer candidates than smaller regional employers.
Which visa types are most common for product engineer roles in Nebraska?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for product engineer roles in Nebraska, as the position typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field. Some candidates also enter through L-1B (intracompany transferee with specialized knowledge) if transferring within a multinational company, or O-1A for those with demonstrated extraordinary ability.
Which cities in Nebraska have the most product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Omaha accounts for the large majority of product engineer sponsorship opportunities in Nebraska, home to major employers in fintech, logistics, insurance, and defense contracting. Lincoln is a secondary hub, benefiting from the University of Nebraska's research and technology ecosystem. Smaller cities like Kearney and Bellevue have limited but emerging tech employer presences worth monitoring.
How to find product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in Nebraska?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters product engineer roles in Nebraska by visa sponsorship availability, saving significant time compared to sorting through general job listings. The platform surfaces employers with active sponsorship histories so you can focus on applications where your visa situation is already a known factor for the hiring team, not a surprise.
Are there any state-specific considerations for product engineers seeking sponsorship in Nebraska?
Nebraska's tech sector is less saturated than coastal markets, which can work in favor of international candidates at companies actively competing for engineering talent. The University of Nebraska pipeline produces local graduates, so employers hiring product engineers often supplement with international talent when domestic supply is limited. Prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules apply statewide and are determined by the Department of Labor based on the Omaha or Lincoln metropolitan area designations depending on job location.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineer jobs in Nebraska?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
