About Warp
Warp is the AI-native employee management platform that runs itself. Payroll, multi-state compliance, benefits, and IT vanish so teams never have to think about them. Trusted by 1,000+ companies.
We believe the next great companies won't add features. They'll remove work. Our AI agents navigate thousands of government portals, open state tax accounts, resolve compliance notices, and file forms upstream, before any of it ever surfaces. Companies scale from 5 to 500+ employees without adding HR headcount.
Most platforms track operations. We handle them entirely. Warp uses obsessive engineering and a philosophy of subtraction to solve complexity that others won't touch. The goal is simple: it works in the background while you build your company.
As one founder put it: "Using Warp feels like the first time I used Linear or Superhuman. The realization that payroll can just work."
Backed by $25M from Sound Ventures, Y Combinator, and the founders of Dropbox, Replit, OpenAI and Cruise. Team of ~34 from Stripe, Brex, Ramp, Google, Apple, Palantir, and MIT.
About the Role
As a Product Engineer at Warp, you'll be directly responsible for developing new product features and payroll infrastructure that is fast and reliable. You will be focused on ensuring that our products are bulletproof and our code is well-written while we move fast and scale faster.

- Help us scale 10x in the next year
- Have ownership as we redesign our tech stack
- Collaborate directly with the CTO and CEO
- Be willing to live in New York City and be able to work regularly out of our office in SoHo
You will be good for this role if you
- Love programming and obsess over details
- Are product-minded with an emphasis on end-user experience
- Have shipped libraries or services that many users rely on
- Understand payments infrastructure and its unique challenges
- Have experience building full-stack applications
What You Need

Which companies sponsor visas for product engineers in New York?
Large technology and financial services employers in New York have consistent track records of H-1B sponsorship for product engineers. Companies including Google, Amazon, Meta, Spotify, Bloomberg, JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, and Salesforce have offices in New York and regularly file H-1B petitions for product engineering roles. Mid-size technology firms and well-funded startups in the city also sponsor, though less predictably than established enterprises.
Which visa types are most common for product engineer roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common work visa for product engineers in New York, as the role typically meets the specialty occupation standard requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field. Candidates already authorized under OPT or STEM OPT are also common in this market. Executives or specialized professionals transferring within a multinational may qualify for the L-1, and individuals with extraordinary ability may pursue the O-1.
Which cities in New York have the most product engineer sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan holds the largest concentration of product engineer sponsorship opportunities in New York, particularly in Midtown and the Flatiron District where technology and financial services firms cluster. Brooklyn, especially the DUMBO and Williamsburg neighborhoods, has a growing technology presence. Long Island City in Queens has attracted corporate offices from major employers. Outside New York City, Buffalo and Albany have a smaller but emerging technology sector supported by state economic development initiatives.
How to find product engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and filters product engineer roles by state so you can browse verified New York opportunities without sorting through positions that do not offer sponsorship. Because product engineer is a broad title in New York, it is worth searching variations including platform engineer and software product engineer on Migrate Mate to capture the full range of relevant openings from companies with active sponsorship programs.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for product engineers seeking visa sponsorship?
New York employers filing H-1B petitions for product engineers must comply with Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which reflect the high cost of living in the New York City metro area and tend to be among the higher prevailing wage levels nationally. New York is also home to several universities with strong computer science programs, including Cornell Tech on Roosevelt Island and NYU Tandon, which means employers in the area are experienced with OPT-to-H-1B transitions for product engineering graduates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored product engineer jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
