Which gaming and esports companies sponsor H-1B visas in Nevada?
Nevada's largest H-1B visa sponsors in gaming include Aristocrat Technologies, Scientific Games (now Light & Wonder), IGT (International Game Technology), MGM Resorts International, and Caesars Entertainment. These companies file LCAs through DOL for technical roles in software engineering, game mathematics, and platform development. Smaller esports organizations in Las Vegas also sponsor, though less frequently than the major gaming technology firms.
Which cities in Nevada have the most gaming and esports H-1B sponsorship jobs?
Las Vegas accounts for the overwhelming majority of gaming and esports H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nevada. The city hosts the global headquarters of Aristocrat Technologies, IGT, and Light & Wonder, along with the esports arenas operated by major casino groups. Reno has a smaller but growing presence, with some gaming technology firms maintaining development offices there alongside the University of Nevada's computer science programs.
What types of gaming and esports roles typically qualify for H-1B sponsorship?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B typically require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Nevada's gaming and esports sector, qualifying positions commonly include software engineers, game platform architects, data scientists, cybersecurity analysts, systems integration engineers, and mathematical game designers. Positions in esports operations management or general event coordination are less likely to qualify without a directly relevant degree requirement attached to the role.
How do I find gaming and esports H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nevada?
Migrate Mate lets you filter specifically for gaming and esports H-1B sponsorship jobs in Nevada, surfacing employers with verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history so you can see which companies have actually sponsored H-1B workers in this industry. This is more reliable than searching general job boards, since LCA data confirms real sponsorship activity rather than relying on employer self-reporting. Start your search on Migrate Mate and filter by Nevada and the gaming and esports category.
Are there any Nevada-specific considerations for H-1B sponsorship in gaming and esports?
Nevada's Gaming Control Board regulates the industry, and some technical roles at licensed gaming establishments require a state gaming work permit in addition to H-1B authorization. Employers typically initiate the gaming license application once the H-1B is approved. Because Nevada gaming companies are heavily regulated, their legal and compliance teams are generally experienced with H-1B filings, which can make the sponsorship process more structured than at smaller or less regulated employers in other states.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B gaming & esports jobs in Nevada?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
