Which companies sponsor visas for electricians in New Hampshire?
Utility and energy companies like Eversource Energy have a history of sponsoring skilled trade workers in New Hampshire. Large commercial construction contractors and industrial facility operators across Manchester and Nashua also participate in sponsorship programs. Sponsorship is most common at larger firms with dedicated HR and legal resources, as the H-2B visa and H-1B visa filing processes require significant employer involvement.
Which visa types are most common for electrician roles in New Hampshire?
The H-2B temporary nonimmigrant visa is the most common path for foreign electricians in the U.S., as it covers skilled non-agricultural workers when employers can demonstrate a temporary labor shortage. The EB-3 immigrant visa is the primary permanent residency route for skilled tradespeople. H-1B sponsorship is uncommon for electricians since the role generally does not meet the specialty occupation degree requirement.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most electrician sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua, as New Hampshire's two largest cities, generate the most construction and commercial activity and consequently the highest concentration of sponsored electrician roles. Concord, the state capital, also sees consistent demand tied to government and infrastructure projects. Smaller markets like Portsmouth and Dover have growing commercial development that occasionally produces sponsorship opportunities as well.
How to find electrician visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for international job seekers looking for visa sponsorship roles in the trades, including electrician positions in New Hampshire. You can filter by state and job category to see employers actively open to sponsorship. Because sponsorship availability changes frequently, checking Migrate Mate regularly gives you the most current picture of which New Hampshire employers are hiring and willing to sponsor.
Are there any state-specific considerations for electricians seeking sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire requires electricians to hold a state-issued license, with journeyman and master electrician tiers each carrying their own examination and experience requirements. Sponsored workers will need to address licensing alongside their visa process. The state's prevailing wage requirements apply to publicly funded projects, so sponsored electricians on those jobs must be paid at federally and state-mandated rates, which employers are responsible for certifying when filing for work authorization.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored electrician jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
