Which companies sponsor visas for lead software engineers in New Hampshire?
BAE Systems, Oracle, Ellucian, and SignalFx (now part of Splunk) have sponsored H-1B visas for senior and lead software engineering roles in New Hampshire based on Department of Labor disclosure data. Defense contractors along the Merrimack Valley corridor and enterprise software firms in Nashua and Manchester account for a significant share of sponsorship activity in the state.
Which visa types are most common for lead software engineer roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for lead software engineers in New Hampshire, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, software engineering, or a related field. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through multinational employers, particularly in defense and enterprise software, also appear regularly in New Hampshire LCA filings.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most lead software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the majority of lead software engineer sponsorship activity in New Hampshire. Nashua benefits from established tech and defense employer campuses, while Manchester has seen growth in fintech, healthcare IT, and SaaS companies. Bedford and Portsmouth also host engineering offices for mid-size software firms that have a history of filing LCAs for senior technical roles.
How to find lead software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters lead software engineer roles by visa sponsorship availability, so you can focus on New Hampshire employers who have a documented history of sponsoring. Rather than sorting through unfiltered job boards, Migrate Mate surfaces roles from companies that have actively filed H-1B petitions for senior engineering positions, saving significant research time.
Are there any state-specific considerations for lead software engineers pursuing visa sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which affects prevailing wage benchmarking since total compensation packages may be structured differently than in neighboring Massachusetts. Lead software engineers applying through employers near Portsmouth or Nashua should note that some roles in defense and aerospace require security clearances, which can complicate or delay sponsorship for foreign nationals. University of New Hampshire and Southern New Hampshire University also supply local engineering talent pipelines that employers draw from alongside international candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored lead software engineer jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
