Which companies sponsor visas for principal software engineers in New Hampshire?
Employers with established engineering operations in New Hampshire that have sponsored visas for senior software roles include BAE Systems, Oracle, Fidelity Investments, Liberty Mutual, and DEKA Research. Larger defense and financial technology firms in the state tend to have in-house immigration teams, which makes them better positioned to handle H-1B sponsorship for principal-level positions than smaller startups.
Which visa types are most common for principal software engineer roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for principal software engineers in New Hampshire, given the role's degree requirements and specialty occupation classification. Candidates already holding L-1A or L-1B status through multinational employers are another segment. At the principal level, some candidates also pursue O-1A petitions if they have documented recognition such as patents, publications, or leadership on high-impact projects.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most principal software engineer sponsorship jobs?
Manchester and Nashua account for the majority of principal software engineer opportunities in New Hampshire. Nashua in particular has a long-standing technology and defense manufacturing base. Bedford and Merrimack also have employer concentrations worth noting. The southern tier of the state generally offers the most options because of its proximity to the Greater Boston metro and its established commercial infrastructure.
How to find principal software engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search for principal software engineer roles in New Hampshire without wading through positions that do not support international candidates. Given that sponsorship at this seniority level is employer-dependent rather than role-dependent, using a platform built around sponsorship data saves significant time compared to manually screening general job boards.
Are there state-specific considerations for principal software engineers seeking sponsorship in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire has no state income tax, which influences how employers structure total compensation at the principal level and how the Department of Labor's prevailing wage determinations compare to neighboring states. The state also has a notable defense sector presence, and some employers in that space may require U.S. citizenship or permanent residency for certain clearance-sensitive roles, which can limit sponsorship availability at senior engineering levels.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored principal software engineer jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
