Which companies sponsor visas for project engineers in New Hampshire?
Defense and advanced manufacturing employers are the most consistent sponsors in New Hampshire. BAE Systems in Nashua regularly hires project engineers and has a documented H-1B visa sponsorship history. Hypertherm Associates in Hanover and Benchmark Electronics are also known to sponsor. Larger healthcare systems like Dartmouth Health occasionally sponsor project engineers for facilities and infrastructure roles.
Which visa types are most common for project engineer roles in New Hampshire?
The H-1B is the most common visa for project engineers in New Hampshire, provided the role requires at least a bachelor's degree in engineering or a directly related technical field. TN visa status is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering categories. Candidates already on OPT or STEM OPT extension can begin work before an H-1B petition is filed by an employer.
Which cities in New Hampshire have the most project engineer sponsorship jobs?
Nashua and Manchester account for the largest share of project engineer sponsorship activity in New Hampshire. Nashua's concentration of defense contractors and electronics manufacturers makes it the primary hub. Manchester supports a broader mix of employers across construction, utilities, and healthcare. The Upper Valley region around Lebanon and Hanover also sees demand, particularly tied to Dartmouth Health and precision manufacturing firms.
How to find project engineer visa sponsorship jobs in New Hampshire?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search project engineer roles in New Hampshire without sorting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. This is particularly useful in a smaller state market where sponsoring employers are fewer in number. Narrowing by location and role on Migrate Mate surfaces the employers actively hiring international candidates for project engineer positions.
Are there state-specific factors that affect visa sponsorship for project engineers in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire's concentration of defense contractors introduces one important consideration: some project engineer roles at companies like BAE Systems require security clearances, which are generally not available to non-U.S. persons. This limits sponsorship opportunities within certain defense programs, though contractors often have commercial or non-classified divisions that do hire internationally. The state's proximity to Massachusetts tech and biotech employers also means some New Hampshire-based candidates target cross-border opportunities.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored project engineer jobs in New Hampshire?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
