Which companies sponsor visas for cleaning jobs in New Jersey?
Healthcare systems including RWJBarnabas Health and Hackensack Meridian Health hire environmental services workers and have sponsored visas through employment-based green card pathways. Facilities management contractors such as ABM Industries and Aramark operate extensively across New Jersey's office towers, universities, and hospitals and have filed Labor Condition Applications for cleaning and janitorial roles. Atlantic City casino and hotel properties are also known employers in this category.
Which visa types are most common for cleaning roles in New Jersey?
The H-2B temporary nonimmigrant visa is the most common pathway for seasonal cleaning work, particularly in hospitality and resort settings. For permanent positions in healthcare or large facilities management companies, employers sometimes sponsor EB-3 (Other Workers) immigrant visas through the PERM labor certification process. H-1B visa is not applicable to cleaning roles since they do not qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most cleaning sponsorship jobs?
Newark leads the state due to its concentration of hospitals, Newark Liberty International Airport facilities, and commercial real estate. Jersey City follows closely, driven by its high-density office and residential building stock. Atlantic City generates consistent demand through its casino resorts and hotels. Edison and Parsippany are also active markets given their large corporate campuses and warehousing facilities that rely on contract cleaning services.
How to find cleaning visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate lists cleaning and janitorial roles in New Jersey that are filtered specifically for visa sponsorship eligibility, saving you time over general job searches. You can browse by city or employer type to target healthcare, hospitality, or facilities management openings. Because sponsoring a cleaning worker requires an employer to go through a formal visa or PERM process, focusing on larger institutional employers shown on Migrate Mate improves your chances of finding genuine sponsorship opportunities.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for cleaning visa sponsorship?
New Jersey's prevailing wage requirements under state law can be higher than federal minimums, which affects the wage an employer must certify when filing an H-2B petition or PERM application. The state's dense healthcare sector and its proximity to New York City make it a competitive hiring market, meaning institutional employers with established HR and immigration compliance functions are more likely sponsors than small independent cleaning contractors.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cleaning jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
