Which finance companies in New Jersey sponsor E-3 visas?
Large financial institutions with established New Jersey operations are the most active E-3 visa sponsors in finance. JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, and Bank of America all maintain substantial back-office, technology, and front-office finance functions in Jersey City and Newark. Custody and asset servicing firms such as BNY Mellon and State Street also have a significant New Jersey presence and a documented history of sponsoring specialty occupation visas.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most finance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City accounts for the largest share of finance E-3 roles in New Jersey, largely because its waterfront district serves as an extension of the Manhattan financial center for many global banks. Newark follows, with a concentration of insurance, asset management, and financial services firms. Princeton and Parsippany also host regional offices for investment management and financial technology companies, offering a smaller but consistent pool of sponsoring employers.
What types of finance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in New Jersey?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field is a standard requirement. In New Jersey finance, roles that regularly meet this standard include financial analyst, quantitative analyst, risk analyst, compliance analyst, investment analyst, and corporate treasury analyst positions. General administrative or broadly defined management roles are less likely to qualify if the employer cannot demonstrate a specific degree requirement.
How do I find finance E-3 sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (E-3), industry (banking and financial services), and location (New Jersey) to see current roles from employers who have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because E-3 sponsorship depends on both employer policy and individual role qualification, Migrate Mate's filtered results give Australian finance professionals a more targeted starting point than a general job search.
Are there any New Jersey-specific considerations for finance E-3 sponsorship?
New Jersey does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal obligations, but the dense concentration of financial services firms in the state means competition for sponsored roles is high. Many New Jersey finance employers require or strongly prefer candidates already present in the United States, given the pace of hiring in the sector. Australian nationals should also be aware that some New Jersey-based roles are formally based in New York under an employer's legal entity structure, which can affect LCA filings and worksite documentation.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 finance jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
