Which finance companies sponsor E-3 visas in Utah?
Goldman Sachs operates a major technology and operations center in Salt Lake City that has sponsored E-3 workers in finance-adjacent roles. Zions Bancorporation, headquartered in Salt Lake City, is one of the largest regional banks in the Western U.S. and has a history of sponsoring skilled foreign nationals. Fintech firms and insurance companies in the Salt Lake metro also appear in Department of Labor sponsorship records.
Which cities in Utah have the most finance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Salt Lake City accounts for the overwhelming majority of finance E-3 sponsorship activity in Utah, driven by its concentration of banks, insurance companies, and fintech employers. Lehi and Provo, located along the Wasatch Front corridor known informally as Silicon Slopes, have a smaller but growing number of finance roles tied to technology-focused financial services companies. Outside this corridor, finance sponsorship opportunities are limited.
What types of finance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for E-3 sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field is normally required for the position. In finance, this typically covers financial analysts, credit analysts, risk managers, compliance officers, investment analysts, and quantitative researchers. General bookkeeping, teller, or sales-support roles are unlikely to meet the specialty occupation threshold and would not qualify.
How do I find finance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Utah?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (E-3), industry (Banking and Financial Services), and state (Utah) to see roles where employers have an active or recent sponsorship history. This is more efficient than searching general job boards because Migrate Mate surfaces employers with documented sponsorship patterns, helping Australian professionals focus their applications on realistic opportunities in the Salt Lake City area and broader Utah market.
Are there any Utah-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in finance?
Utah does not impose state-level licensing barriers that would uniquely complicate E-3 sponsorship in finance, but roles requiring a Series 7, Series 63, or other FINRA licenses involve separate qualification steps that are independent of visa status. Employers in Utah's finance sector tend to be mid-sized regional institutions or satellite offices of larger firms, so sponsorship decisions are often made at a corporate level outside Utah, which can lengthen the approval process internally.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 finance jobs in Utah?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
