We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. The selected candidate will serve as an Environmental Engineer, responsible for overseeing all environmental aspects of our large-scale infrastructure projects. From Notice to Proceed to Final Completion, you will ensure compliance with environmental regulations, develop and implement site-specific environmental plans, and collaborate with stakeholders to maintain the highest standards of environmental management.

Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee all environmental issues related to the project and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations.
- Develop and implement site-specific environmental procedures and plans.
- Monitor adherence to environmental standards and implement corrective actions or mitigation measures as needed.
- Manage the removal, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials generated by the project.
- Document environmental approvals and maintain compliance records.
- Collaborate with regulatory agencies, contractors, and internal teams to ensure environmental compliance.
Qualifications (Preferred)
All qualifications are considered a plus:
Experience:
- 2-5 years of relevant environmental compliance experience with permitting, industrial hygiene, and construction management on large, complex transportation or infrastructure projects.
- Familiarity with federal and New York State permitting processes.
- Experience working with NYC DEP and NYS DEC is plus.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations, especially as they relate to hazardous materials.
Licenses and Certifications (Preferred):
- OSHA 40-hour Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification or 8-hour refresher completed within the past 12 months.
- Valid New York State Department of Labor Asbestos Inspector Certificate.
- Association for Materials Protection and Performance (AMPP) C3 Initial or C5 Refresher for Lead/Hazardous Coating Removal (annual refresher required).
- NYSDEC Endorsed 4-Hour Erosion and Sediment Control Contractor Training.
- New York State Professional Engineering License is plus but not required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
