Which companies sponsor visas for software quality assurance roles in New Jersey?
Cognizant, Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Wipro, and HCL Technologies are among the most active H-1B sponsors for QA roles in New Jersey, largely due to their consulting and IT services presence in the state. Large in-house employers like Johnson & Johnson, Verizon, and Conduent also have documented sponsorship histories for software quality assurance and QA automation positions.
Which visa types are most common for software quality assurance roles in New Jersey?
The H-1B is the primary visa category for software quality assurance professionals in New Jersey. QA engineering roles generally qualify as specialty occupations requiring a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Some candidates working for multinational firms may also be eligible for the L-1B intracompany transferee visa if they're moving from an overseas office to a New Jersey location.
Which cities in New Jersey have the most software quality assurance sponsorship jobs?
Jersey City and Newark see strong QA hiring driven by financial services and technology firms with proximity to New York City. Princeton and Parsippany are significant hubs tied to pharma and enterprise software companies. Bridgewater and Iselin also host IT consulting firms that frequently sponsor QA professionals. These areas collectively account for the majority of H-1B filings for quality assurance roles in the state.
How to find software quality assurance visa sponsorship jobs in New Jersey?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates searching for visa sponsorship roles, including software quality assurance positions in New Jersey. You can filter by state and role to surface employers with active H-1B sponsorship histories. Focusing on QA automation, SDET, and test engineering titles in your search will surface the broadest range of relevant New Jersey openings on the platform.
Are there any state-specific considerations for software quality assurance roles and visa sponsorship in New Jersey?
New Jersey's concentration of pharmaceutical and financial technology firms means QA roles often require domain knowledge in regulated industries, which can strengthen a visa petition by demonstrating specialized expertise. The state also has a strong pipeline from Rutgers University and NJIT, so employers are generally experienced with international candidate hiring. Prevailing wage requirements are set at the federal level by the Department of Labor and apply uniformly regardless of state.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored software quality assurance jobs in New Jersey?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
