About the Role
Fipsar is seeking an experienced, hands-on Senior Data Platform Technical Lead to support enterprise data platforms for a leading global pharmaceutical client. This is a critical technical leadership role responsible for platform administration, production stability, troubleshooting, release management, and technical coordination across Snowflake, Talend, AWS, Streamlit, and GitHub. The successful candidate will initially focus on knowledge transfer, taking ownership of existing platforms, and ensuring continuity of production operations. This is an initial three-month contract with the potential for extension based on business needs, performance, and client requirements.
We are looking for a hands-on technical problem-solver, not a project manager or a people-management-only architect.
Key Responsibilities
Data Platform Administration & Technical Ownership:
- Take technical ownership of enterprise data platforms across Snowflake, Talend, AWS, and related technologies.
- Complete structured knowledge transfer from the existing technical architect.
- Troubleshoot complex production issues involving data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, authentication, and integrations.
- Review SQL, data models, technical designs, and platform configurations.
- Support new project onboarding and DEV, QA, and PROD environment provisioning.
Snowflake Administration:
- Manage Snowflake databases, warehouses, users, roles, and RBAC security.
- Troubleshoot Snowflake tasks, streams, data pipelines, and performance issues.
- Optimize SQL queries, warehouse utilization, and resource consumption.
- Support authentication, security policies, service accounts, and integrations.
- Assist with backup, replication, recovery, and platform lifecycle management.
Talend Administration & ETL Support:
- Administer Talend environments, remote engines, job servers, schedules, and execution plans.
- Troubleshoot ETL failures, API integrations, pagination issues, connectivity, and performance bottlenecks.
- Manage Talend contexts, configurations, reusable frameworks, and deployment processes.
- Support production ETL monitoring, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.
AWS Cloud & Integration Support:
- Support AWS services including S3, Glue, IAM, CloudWatch, and related integrations.
- Manage S3 configurations, permissions, data transfers, and lifecycle policies.
- Troubleshoot Glue jobs, cloud connectivity, API integrations, and service failures.
- Support cloud environment provisioning, security configurations, and operational monitoring.
DevOps, GitHub & Production Deployments:
- Coordinate and execute production deployments across Snowflake, Talend, AWS, and Streamlit components.
- Manage GitHub repositories, CI/CD pipelines, pull requests, approvals, and release processes.
- Validate deployment prerequisites, change approvals, rollback procedures, and production readiness.
- Troubleshoot deployment failures and support controlled recovery.
Platform Security, Compliance & Operations:
- Support SSO, RBAC, credential management, key rotation, and security vulnerability remediation.
- Follow established change-control, security, and GxP-related procedures.
- Investigate critical L2/L3 production incidents and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Collaborate with development, monitoring, infrastructure, and operations teams.
- Improve operational runbooks, monitoring, alerting, and platform reliability.
Knowledge Transfer & Technical Leadership:
- Complete knowledge transfer from our team and assume ownership of critical platform activities.
- Document architecture, configurations, dependencies, known issues, and operational procedures.
- Provide hands-on technical guidance to offshore engineers and production support teams.
- Support a structured knowledge transfer to the offshore team to ensure long-term operational continuity.
- Collaborate with US-based client stakeholders and technical leadership.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, platform administration, cloud data platforms, or technical leadership.
- Strong practical experience with Talend administration, ETL troubleshooting, and production deployments.
- Strong experience with Snowflake administration, SQL, performance optimization, and RBAC.
- Hands-on experience with AWS S3, Glue, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Experience with GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, release management, and environment promotions.
- Strong SQL troubleshooting, data modeling, and integration skills.
- Experience troubleshooting REST APIs, authentication, connectivity, and data pipeline failures.
- Proven ability to independently resolve critical production incidents.
