Which companies sponsor visas for accounting managers in New York?
Large financial institutions like JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, and Goldman Sachs regularly sponsor accounting managers, as do the Big Four firms (Deloitte, PwC, EY, and KPMG), all of which have major New York offices. Multinational corporations headquartered in the state, including media conglomerates and pharmaceutical companies, also have established sponsorship programs for senior finance and accounting roles.
Which visa types are most common for accounting manager roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for accounting managers in New York, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Candidates with extraordinary recognition in the field may qualify for an O-1A. Intracompany transferees moving from a foreign affiliate to a New York office often use the L-1A visa, which is particularly relevant given the density of global firms in the city.
Which cities in New York have the most accounting manager sponsorship jobs?
New York City, specifically Manhattan, accounts for the vast majority of accounting manager sponsorship opportunities in the state, concentrated in the Financial District, Midtown, and Hudson Yards. Buffalo and Albany have a smaller but active market tied to regional banks, healthcare systems, and state government contractors. Rochester and Syracuse see periodic openings through manufacturing and higher education employers.
How to find accounting manager visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can browse accounting manager roles in New York without sifting through positions that don't offer sponsorship. The platform is built for international candidates and surfaces roles from employers with documented sponsorship histories. Searching by state and role type on Migrate Mate is the most direct way to identify active openings relevant to your situation.
Are there any state-specific considerations for accounting manager sponsorship in New York?
New York employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must meet Department of Labor prevailing wage requirements, which in the New York City metro area reflect some of the highest prevailing wages in the country for accounting occupations. New York's dense concentration of CPA firms and regulated financial institutions also means many accounting manager roles require specific licensure or SEC compliance experience, which can strengthen a sponsorship case by demonstrating specialized qualifications beyond a general degree.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored accounting manager jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
