Which companies sponsor visas for C.N.A.s in New York?
The most active sponsors tend to be large hospital networks and long-term care operators with high patient volumes. In New York, that includes NYC Health + Hospitals, Northwell Health, Montefiore Medical Center, NYU Langone Health, and Mount Sinai Health System. Nursing home chains operating across the five boroughs and upstate counties also sponsor international C.N.A.s, particularly when facing persistent staffing gaps in overnight and weekend shifts.
Which visa types are most common for C.N.A. roles in New York?
The EB-3 immigrant visa is the most common pathway for C.N.A.s, as the role is classified as unskilled or semi-skilled labor under the third preference category. This requires employer-sponsored PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor. Some C.N.A.s also enter on H-2B temporary nonimmigrant visas, though those are subject to annual caps and are less frequently used for healthcare settings in New York.
How to find c.n.a. visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, so you can search C.N.A. openings in New York without sifting through roles that don't support international candidates. The platform covers positions across New York City, Long Island, the Hudson Valley, and upstate markets. Because C.N.A. sponsorship typically requires PERM labor certification, filtering for employers with a documented sponsorship history saves significant time in your search.
Which cities in New York have the most C.N.A. sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly the Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens, has the highest concentration of C.N.A. sponsorship openings due to the density of hospital systems and nursing facilities serving large elderly populations. Buffalo and Rochester also have active markets driven by regional health systems like Kaleida Health and Rochester Regional Health. Long Island's Nassau and Suffolk counties see steady demand through suburban nursing home networks.
Are there any state-specific considerations for C.N.A. visa sponsorship in New York?
New York requires C.N.A.s to hold a valid New York State Nurse Aide certification, which involves a state-approved training program and a competency evaluation. International candidates should confirm credential recognition before an employer initiates PERM sponsorship, as the certification must be in hand or in process. New York also has relatively strong union presence in healthcare, and some unionized facilities may have specific hiring procedures that affect sponsorship timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored c.n.a. jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
