Which finance companies sponsor E-3 visas in New York?
New York's largest financial institutions have established E-3 visa sponsorship track records, including JPMorgan Chase, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley, Citigroup, BlackRock, and Bank of America Merrill Lynch. Boutique investment banks and asset managers in Midtown Manhattan also sponsor E-3 workers regularly. Sponsorship willingness varies by team, headcount, and hiring cycle, so it is worth researching individual employers directly.
Which cities in New York have the most finance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan is by far the dominant location, particularly the Midtown and Lower Manhattan financial districts where global banks, asset managers, and hedge funds are concentrated. Some roles exist in other boroughs and in suburban hubs like Stamford, Connecticut, which borders New York. For roles specifically within New York State, Manhattan accounts for the overwhelming majority of finance E-3 positions.
What types of finance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. In finance, roles that commonly meet this standard include investment analyst, financial analyst, risk analyst, compliance officer, quantitative analyst, and portfolio manager. Generalist or administrative finance roles may not qualify if the employer cannot demonstrate a specific degree requirement.
How do I find finance E-3 sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by E-3 visa type and the finance industry to see New York roles where employers have indicated sponsorship availability. Because E-3 sponsorship depends on the employer filing a Labor Condition Application, focusing on firms with a documented sponsorship history, which Migrate Mate surfaces, saves significant time compared to applying broadly.
Are there New York-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in finance?
New York's financial sector is heavily regulated, and many finance roles require FINRA licensing such as Series 7 or Series 63. These licenses are obtained after hiring, but employers may factor exam eligibility into their hiring decisions for E-3 candidates. New York State also has its own wage and labor standards that interact with the Department of Labor's prevailing wage requirements embedded in every E-3 Labor Condition Application.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 finance jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
