Tips for Finding E-3 Sponsorship Jobs in New York
Target industries with established E-3 hiring pipelines
Finance, consulting, technology, media, and healthcare are New York's most active E-3 sponsoring sectors. Focusing your search on employers in these industries significantly increases your odds of finding a company already familiar with the E-3 process.
Look beyond Manhattan when searching for opportunities
Brooklyn, Long Island City, and Jersey City all have growing employer bases that sponsor E-3 visas. Expanding your search beyond Midtown and the Financial District opens up roles at companies with less competition from other applicants.
Research employers using DOL LCA disclosure data
The Department of Labor publishes Labor Condition Application records that show which New York employers have sponsored E-3 visas before. Filtering this data by state and visa type gives you a verified list of companies with a proven sponsorship track record.
Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for E-3 sponsorship jobs
General job boards don't filter by visa type. Migrate Mate is built for this, letting you browse New York roles from employers who actively sponsor E-3 visas so you're not spending time on applications that won't go anywhere.
Engage New York's Australian professional community early
The Australian Consulate in New York and local expat networks are active. Connecting with Australians already working in New York on E-3 visas gives you referrals, employer insights, and practical guidance that no job listing can provide.
Prepare your employer for the LCA step before you apply
Many New York employers are open to sponsorship but unfamiliar with the E-3 process. Having a clear, one-page explainer ready that covers the LCA filing and low overall cost makes it easier for HR to say yes when they're on the fence.

Which industries in New York sponsor the most E-3 visas?
Finance and investment banking, management consulting, technology, advertising and media, and professional services consistently account for the largest share of E-3 visa sponsorship activity in New York. Firms across Wall Street, Midtown, and the city's growing tech corridor in lower Manhattan and Brooklyn regularly hire Australian professionals in specialty occupation roles that qualify for E-3 status.
Which cities in New York have the most E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan concentrates the majority of E-3 sponsoring employers in New York, particularly in finance, consulting, and media. Brooklyn and Long Island City have grown significantly as technology and creative industry employers have expanded there. For professionals open to the broader metro area, employers in White Plains and Stamford, Connecticut are also accessible from New York City.
What types of roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in New York?
E-3 sponsorship requires a specialty occupation, meaning a role that normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In New York, qualifying roles commonly include financial analysts, software engineers, management consultants, marketing managers, architects, engineers, and registered nurses. Roles where any bachelor's degree would satisfy the employer's requirement, regardless of field, generally do not qualify.
How do I find E-3 sponsorship jobs in New York?
The most efficient approach is to use a platform built specifically for visa sponsorship roles. Migrate Mate lets you filter jobs in New York by visa type, so you see only roles from employers actively sponsoring E-3 visas. You can also cross-reference DOL LCA disclosure data to identify New York employers with a verified E-3 sponsorship history before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
