Which healthcare companies sponsor E-3 visas in New York?
New York's largest health systems, including NewYork-Presbyterian, Northwell Health, Mount Sinai Health System, and NYU Langone Health, have established international hiring programs and the infrastructure to support E-3 visa sponsorship. Academic medical centers affiliated with Columbia University and Cornell are also known to hire internationally. Sponsorship availability varies by role, department, and hiring period, so confirming directly with each employer's HR team is important.
Which cities in New York have the most healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens, concentrates the majority of E-3 healthcare opportunities given the density of major hospital systems and specialty clinics. Buffalo is a growing hub, anchored by Kaleida Health and the University at Buffalo's affiliated medical facilities. Albany and Rochester also have active healthcare employers, particularly in hospital administration, allied health, and specialty care settings.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in New York?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it normally requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In healthcare, this covers registered nurses with relevant degree qualifications, physical therapists, occupational therapists, medical laboratory scientists, radiographers, speech-language pathologists, and physician roles. General support or non-clinical administrative positions that don't require a specific degree field typically do not qualify.
How do I find healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is specifically built for Australian professionals seeking E-3 visa sponsorship roles in the U.S., including healthcare positions across New York. You can filter by state and industry to surface relevant openings at health systems and specialty practices that have demonstrated sponsorship willingness. Searching through a platform focused on visa sponsorship saves time compared to filtering through general job boards that don't screen for E-3 eligibility.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for healthcare E-3 sponsorship?
New York has its own professional licensing requirements that operate independently of your E-3 visa status. Australian nurses, physical therapists, and other licensed clinicians must obtain New York State licensure through the Office of the Professions before practicing, which can involve credential evaluations and examinations. Starting the licensure process early is advisable, as processing times vary and some employers require an active license before a start date can be confirmed.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 healthcare jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
