Which retail companies in New York sponsor E-3 visas?
Large retail groups with significant New York operations, including luxury fashion houses headquartered in Midtown Manhattan, major department store chains, and global specialty retailers, have documented LCA filing histories for E-3 workers. Sponsorship activity tends to concentrate in corporate buying, merchandising, and retail management functions rather than hourly store-level positions. Reviewing OFLC Labor Condition Application disclosures by employer and occupation code gives the clearest picture of which companies file regularly.
Which cities in New York have the most retail E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan accounts for the largest share of retail E-3 opportunities in New York, driven by its dense concentration of corporate retail headquarters and flagship stores in areas like Fifth Avenue, SoHo, and the Meatpacking District. Brooklyn has grown as a hub for independent and direct-to-consumer retail brands. Long Island's major retail corridors and the greater New York metro area also generate sponsorship activity, particularly for district and regional management roles.
What types of retail roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in New York?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupation roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In retail, that typically means positions in merchandise buying, product planning and allocation, retail analytics, visual merchandising management, brand management, and corporate operations. Store associate and supervisor roles generally do not meet the specialty occupation standard. O*NET occupation profiles can help verify whether a specific job title carries a degree requirement that supports an E-3 application.
How do I find retail E-3 sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and location, making it straightforward to search for retail E-3 roles in New York without manually screening out employers who don't sponsor. The platform surfaces employers with verified LCA filing history for E-3 workers, so you can focus on companies that have already navigated the sponsorship process. Filtering by industry and occupation type helps narrow results to buying, planning, and management roles that typically qualify as specialty occupations.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for retail E-3 sponsorship?
New York's retail sector is unusually concentrated in corporate functions, buying offices, brand headquarters, and regional management are disproportionately based here compared to other states. That concentration means more E-3-eligible roles exist in New York retail than the store count alone would suggest. New York also enforces its own wage and labor standards, so employers filing LCAs must meet both federal prevailing wage requirements and any applicable state or local wage floors, whichever is higher.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 retail jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
