Which healthcare companies sponsor E-3 visas in Washington?
Washington's largest health systems, including UW Medicine, Providence Health and Services, Virginia Mason Franciscan Health, MultiCare Health System, and Seattle Children's, have histories of sponsoring work visas for qualified international candidates. Smaller regional hospitals and specialty clinics also sponsor E-3 visas, though capacity varies by organization and role. Sponsorship is never guaranteed, so confirming willingness with each employer directly is important.
Which cities in Washington have the most healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Seattle and the broader King County metro area hold the greatest concentration of healthcare E-3 opportunities in Washington, driven by its density of major hospitals, research medical centers, and specialty health networks. Spokane is a secondary market with established health systems including Providence and MultiCare operating there. Tacoma, Bellevue, and Renton also have meaningful healthcare infrastructure worth targeting in a job search.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship in healthcare is limited to specialty occupations, meaning the role must normally require at least a U.S. bachelor's degree or equivalent in a specific field. Registered nurses with only an associate degree often face challenges qualifying, while roles like physical therapist, occupational therapist, clinical research coordinator, health information manager, medical sonographer, and physician assistant more reliably meet the specialty occupation standard given their degree requirements.
How do I find healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs in Washington, since its job board is specifically built for international candidates and filters by visa type and industry. Searching within the healthcare category and filtering for Washington state surfaces roles from employers who are actively open to E-3 sponsorship. Reviewing each listing carefully and reaching out to confirm sponsorship willingness before applying is advisable.
Are there any state-specific considerations for healthcare E-3 workers in Washington?
Washington state requires professional licensing for most regulated healthcare roles, and Australian credentials typically need evaluation or endorsement before a license is granted. For example, physical therapists and occupational therapists must apply to the Washington State Department of Health for licensure, which may require credential verification through an approved foreign equivalency body. Beginning the licensing process early is important, as it can take several months and employers generally require licensure before a start date.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 healthcare jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
