Which insurance companies sponsor E-3 visas in Washington?
Washington is home to operations from large national carriers including PEMCO Mutual Insurance, Safeco (a Liberty Mutual subsidiary headquartered in Seattle), and Farmers Insurance, as well as global firms like Zurich and Chubb with regional offices in the state. Brokerage and advisory firms such as Marsh McLennan and Willis Towers Watson also have a presence in the Seattle metro and have historically filed Labor Condition Applications for specialty occupation roles.
Which cities in Washington have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Seattle concentrates the largest share of Washington's insurance employment, particularly for actuarial, underwriting, and risk management roles tied to its financial services and tech-adjacent industries. Bellevue and Redmond see demand linked to corporate risk and employee benefits functions serving major technology employers. Spokane and Tacoma have smaller but active insurance markets, primarily in regional claims, commercial lines, and independent brokerage operations.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In insurance, roles that commonly meet this standard include actuary, underwriter, risk analyst, claims analyst, financial analyst, and compliance analyst. Positions such as general insurance agent or adjuster that do not typically require a specific degree field are less likely to qualify. The employer must also file a certified Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before the visa application proceeds.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Washington?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters insurance roles in Washington by visa type, including E-3 sponsorship. Rather than sorting through general job listings, you can search directly for Washington-based insurance employers that have indicated willingness to sponsor E-3 applicants. Pairing Migrate Mate's filtered results with direct outreach to carriers and brokerages operating in Seattle and Bellevue gives you the most targeted approach for this niche.
Are there any Washington-specific considerations for insurance E-3 sponsorship?
Washington's insurance market is regulated by the Office of the Insurance Commissioner, and some roles require state licensure independent of your visa status. If your position requires a Washington insurance producer or adjuster license, you'll need to meet the state's licensing requirements after arrival, which can involve pre-licensing education and an examination. Employers sponsoring E-3 workers for licensed roles are generally aware of this process, but it is worth confirming licensing requirements with your prospective employer before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Washington?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
