Search Insurance Jobs in OregonInsurance E-3 Sponsorship Jobs in Oregon: Frequently Asked Questions
Which insurance companies in Oregon are known to sponsor E-3 visas?
Oregon-based insurers with documented specialty occupation hiring include Regence BlueCross BlueShield, Cambia Health Solutions, and PEMCO Mutual Insurance. National carriers with Oregon operations, such as Standard Insurance Company and The Hartford, have also filed Labor Condition Applications for actuarial and risk management roles. Sponsorship availability varies by role, team, and hiring cycle, so confirming directly with each employer's HR or immigration team is advisable.
Which cities in Oregon have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the large majority of Oregon's insurance E-3 sponsorship activity, driven by its concentration of regional insurers, financial services firms, and corporate headquarters. Salem, as the state capital, hosts regulatory and government-adjacent insurance functions. Eugene and Bend have smaller but growing financial services presences. For Australian professionals, Portland is the most practical starting point when targeting Oregon insurance roles.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field are the foundation of E-3 specialty occupation eligibility. In Oregon's insurance sector, this typically includes actuary, underwriter, risk analyst, claims consultant, compliance analyst, and data scientist positions. General adjuster or sales-focused roles that accept any degree field are less likely to qualify. The specific job description and degree requirement must align clearly for the Labor Condition Application to be certified.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa type and industry, making it straightforward to identify Oregon insurance employers who have active E-3 sponsorship history. Because not all insurers advertise visa sponsorship in job postings, using a platform that surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application filing data, as Migrate Mate does, helps you focus on employers who have sponsored E-3 holders in actuarial, underwriting, and risk roles rather than applying broadly and asking after the fact.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in the insurance industry?
Oregon's Department of Consumer and Business Services regulates the state's insurance market, which means compliance and regulatory affairs roles often require familiarity with Oregon-specific insurance statutes, adding a qualification layer beyond the federal E-3 specialty occupation standard. Oregon's actuarial and health insurance sectors are particularly active due to the state's history of insurance innovation, including early adoption of health exchange models, which has sustained demand for analytically credentialed professionals in Portland-area firms.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
