Which healthcare companies sponsor E-3 visas in Oregon?
Oregon's largest healthcare employers with documented visa sponsorship histories include Oregon Health and Science University (OHSU), Providence Health and Services, Legacy Health, PeaceHealth, and Samaritan Health Services. These systems operate across multiple facilities and have sponsored international healthcare professionals for specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship decisions depend on the specific role, facility needs, and whether the position meets E-3 specialty occupation requirements.
Which cities in Oregon have the most healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Portland has the highest concentration of healthcare E-3 sponsorship opportunities, anchored by OHSU's academic medical center, multiple Providence campuses, and Legacy Health facilities. Salem and Eugene also see regular hiring activity through regional health systems. Bend has grown significantly as a healthcare hub through St. Charles Health System. Rural Oregon communities sometimes offer sponsorship for hard-to-fill specialty roles in primary care and allied health.
What types of healthcare roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that consistently meet the E-3 specialty occupation standard in Oregon healthcare include registered nurses with BSN degrees, physical and occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, medical laboratory scientists, and pharmacists. Physician and advanced practice roles such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants also qualify. The position must require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a related field, which most clinically credentialed healthcare roles satisfy.
How do I find healthcare E-3 sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate lists healthcare positions at Oregon employers with verified E-3 sponsorship histories, letting you filter specifically by visa type and industry rather than sorting through general job postings. Because E-3 sponsorship requires employer willingness to file a Labor Condition Application, searching a platform that surfaces sponsoring employers directly saves significant time. Filter for Oregon healthcare roles on Migrate Mate to identify which systems are actively hiring internationally credentialed candidates.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in Oregon healthcare?
Oregon requires registered nurses to hold a valid Oregon State Board of Nursing license before practicing, and international applicants must verify their foreign credentials meet NCLEX eligibility requirements. Physical and occupational therapists face similar state licensure requirements. OHSU and some other Oregon systems also participate in E-Verify, which is relevant for employment authorization verification. Australian healthcare professionals should confirm credential recognition and state licensure timelines alongside the E-3 visa process, as licensure and visa approvals are handled separately.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 healthcare jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
