Which animal care & pet services companies sponsor E-3 visas in Oregon?
Oregon's E-3 sponsors in animal care tend to be larger veterinary hospital groups, specialty and emergency animal clinics, and university-affiliated research facilities. Oregon State University's veterinary programs and multi-location veterinary practice groups in the Portland metro area have historically filed Labor Condition Applications for skilled animal care roles. Smaller independent clinics sponsor less frequently, as the administrative requirements favor employers with dedicated HR or legal resources.
Which cities in Oregon have the most animal care & pet services E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Portland is Oregon's primary market for animal care E-3 roles, with a high concentration of specialty veterinary hospitals, emergency clinics, and corporate-owned pet care chains. Corvallis supports demand through Oregon State University's veterinary programs and affiliated research facilities. Eugene also has a steady base of veterinary and animal services employers. Smaller markets like Bend are growing but offer fewer formal sponsorship opportunities.
What types of animal care & pet services roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In animal care and pet services, licensed veterinarians, veterinary specialists, veterinary researchers, and animal behaviorists with relevant degrees typically meet this standard. Roles such as kennel technician or general grooming positions generally do not qualify, as they don't require a specific bachelor's degree.
How do I find animal care & pet services E-3 sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for E-3 job seekers and surfaces Oregon animal care and pet services employers with verified LCA filing history, so you can focus on organizations that have already demonstrated willingness to sponsor. Filtering by visa type and state narrows results to genuinely relevant opportunities. You can also cross-reference employer names against DOL's OFLC disclosure data to review past filings for animal care and veterinary roles in Oregon.
Are there any Oregon-specific or industry-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in animal care?
Veterinary professionals seeking E-3 sponsorship in Oregon must hold credentials recognized by the Oregon Veterinary Medical Examining Board, which typically requires passing the North American Veterinary Licensing Examination. Australian veterinary degrees are generally well-regarded, but credential evaluation and state licensure must be secured alongside the visa process. Employers in Oregon's research sector, particularly those connected to Oregon State University, may have dedicated international hiring processes that align with E-3 requirements.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 animal care & pet services jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
