Which fashion & apparel companies in Oregon sponsor E-3 visas?
Oregon's most active E-3 sponsors in fashion and apparel are headquartered in the Portland metro area. Nike, Columbia Sportswear, and Adidas North America have established immigration programs and a documented history of sponsoring specialty occupation workers. Smaller Oregon-based brands in sustainable and outdoor apparel also sponsor E-3 visas, though less frequently. Checking DOL Labor Condition Application filings by employer gives the clearest picture of sponsorship activity.
Which cities in Oregon have the most fashion & apparel E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Portland is by far Oregon's center for fashion and apparel employment, particularly in performance wear and outdoor brands. The Beaverton and Hillsboro suburbs, where Nike and Adidas North America maintain large campuses, account for a significant share of design and product development roles. Eugene has a smaller but active outdoor and activewear presence. Outside the Portland metro, sponsorship opportunities are limited.
What types of fashion & apparel roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that qualify as specialty occupations under the E-3 require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In Oregon's fashion and apparel sector, qualifying positions commonly include apparel designer, textile engineer, product developer, technical designer, trend analyst, merchandising manager, and footwear engineer. General retail or production floor roles typically do not meet the specialty occupation standard. O*NET occupation profiles can help confirm degree requirements for specific job titles.
How do I find fashion & apparel E-3 sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate lists fashion and apparel positions with verified E-3 sponsorship history, filtered specifically for Oregon employers. Because E-3 sponsorship depends on employer willingness and role eligibility, searching within a platform that surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data saves significant time. On Migrate Mate, you can narrow results by industry, state, and visa type to identify Oregon-based apparel employers actively filing for E-3 workers in design, product development, and related specialty roles.
Are there any Oregon-specific or industry-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in fashion & apparel?
Oregon does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements beyond federal standards, but the state's apparel industry has a distinct concentration in performance, outdoor, and sustainable fashion rather than luxury or high-street retail. Employers in these segments often seek candidates with technical expertise in materials, sustainability, or footwear engineering. Australian applicants should confirm that their three-year bachelor's degree is accepted by the sponsoring employer, as degree equivalency can be a point of review during E-3 adjudication.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 fashion & apparel jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
