Which construction companies sponsor E-3 visas in Oregon?
General contractors and engineering firms with established international hiring programs are the most consistent E-3 sponsors in Oregon. Companies like Hoffman Construction, Skanska, and Mortenson have Oregon operations and have filed Labor Condition Applications for specialty roles. Larger civil engineering and infrastructure firms working on Oregon Department of Transportation projects also appear in federal LCA disclosure data as E-3 sponsors.
Which cities in Oregon have the most construction E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Portland accounts for the largest share of construction E-3 sponsorship activity in Oregon, driven by commercial development, transit infrastructure, and a concentration of engineering firms with international hiring capacity. Bend has seen growing demand tied to rapid residential and commercial expansion. Eugene and Salem also generate openings, particularly on public infrastructure and university campus projects.
What types of construction roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship in construction is generally limited to roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field, meeting USCIS specialty occupation criteria. Qualifying roles commonly include civil engineers, structural engineers, geotechnical engineers, project managers with engineering degrees, and construction managers where the position requires specialized engineering or technical education. General trades and site supervision roles without a degree requirement do not typically qualify.
How do I find construction E-3 sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate is designed specifically for this search, letting you filter by visa type, industry, and state to surface Oregon construction roles from employers with documented E-3 sponsorship history. Because E-3 sponsorship requires an employer willing to file a Labor Condition Application, focusing on firms that have previously sponsored international workers, as shown in federal LCA data, significantly narrows your search to realistic opportunities.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for E-3 construction sponsorship?
Oregon's prevailing wage requirements under state public works law apply to many publicly funded construction projects, which means the wage certified on the Labor Condition Application must meet both federal and state prevailing wage standards for the relevant occupation and county. Projects funded through Oregon's statewide transportation and infrastructure programs are subject to these rules, so employers working on public contracts need to account for this when filing LCA documentation.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 construction jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
