Which fintech companies in Oregon sponsor E-3 visas?
Portland-area fintech employers including Umpqua Bank, Rivermark Community Credit Union's technology division, and several payments and lending startups have filed Labor Condition Applications for specialty occupation roles. Larger financial technology firms with Oregon offices, such as those in the payments processing and digital banking space, are the most consistent sponsors. Filing history varies year to year, so checking OFLC disclosure data gives the most current picture.
Which cities in Oregon have the most fintech E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Portland is the clear center of fintech E-3 sponsorship activity in Oregon, with the majority of LCA filings concentrated in the inner metro and surrounding suburbs like Beaverton and Hillsboro. Beaverton attracts technology-oriented financial services employers given its proximity to the Silicon Forest tech corridor. Eugene has a smaller but emerging fintech presence tied to university-affiliated startups and regional credit unions with technology divisions.
What types of fintech roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Oregon?
Roles that require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field qualify as specialty occupations under the E-3 category. In Oregon's fintech sector, this commonly covers software engineers building payments infrastructure, data scientists working on credit risk or fraud detection models, product managers with quantitative finance backgrounds, and compliance analysts with degrees in finance or law. General customer service or sales roles without a specific degree requirement typically do not qualify.
How do I find fintech E-3 sponsorship jobs in Oregon?
Migrate Mate filters job listings by visa type, so you can search specifically for fintech roles with E-3 sponsorship history in Oregon without manually reviewing each employer's LCA filings. The platform surfaces employers that have previously filed Labor Condition Applications for E-3 workers, which is a reliable signal of sponsorship willingness in the fintech sector. Narrowing by Portland or Beaverton gives the highest concentration of relevant results.
Are there any Oregon-specific considerations for fintech E-3 sponsorship?
Oregon does not impose state-level visa sponsorship requirements on employers, but fintech companies operating in the state must comply with Oregon's financial services licensing rules, which can affect the types of roles they hire for. Employers in the payments and lending space sometimes require candidates to obtain state-specific licenses post-hire, which is separate from the E-3 process. Portland's fintech hiring is also tied to fiscal year cycles at larger financial institutions, meaning LCA filings often cluster in Q1 and Q3.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 fintech jobs in Oregon?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
