Which insurance companies in Colorado are known to sponsor E-3 visas?
Large carriers and specialty insurers with Colorado operations have the most consistent E-3 filing history. Denver-based offices of national carriers like Berkshire Hathaway Specialty Insurance, Markel, Liberty Mutual, and Chubb have filed Labor Condition Applications for insurance professionals. Colorado's health insurance sector, anchored by companies such as Cigna and Elevance Health, also sponsors actuarial and data analytics roles that qualify for E-3 status.
Which Colorado cities have the most insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the majority of insurance E-3 sponsorship activity in Colorado, hosting regional headquarters and specialty underwriting units for multiple national carriers. Greenwood Village and the Denver Tech Center corridor have a strong concentration of insurance and reinsurance offices. Colorado Springs has a smaller but active market, particularly in property and casualty insurance, while Boulder attracts insurtech and data-focused insurance roles.
What types of insurance roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Colorado?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. In the Colorado insurance market, roles that consistently meet this threshold include actuarial analyst, underwriter, risk management consultant, claims analytics specialist, compliance officer, and insurance data scientist. General adjuster or sales-only roles are less likely to qualify without a degree requirement in a specific discipline.
How do I find insurance E-3 sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate lists insurance jobs in Colorado filtered for employers with verified E-3 Labor Condition Application filing history, so you can identify carriers actively sponsoring Australian professionals rather than cold-applying to companies with no track record. Search by industry and state to see current actuarial, underwriting, and risk roles. You can also cross-reference employer LCA history through the OFLC Wage Search tool to confirm recent E-3 filings before applying.
Are there Colorado-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in the insurance industry?
Colorado requires insurance professionals in certain roles, including adjusters and agents, to hold a state-issued license. An E-3 visa grants work authorization but does not substitute for state licensure, so candidates should confirm whether their target role requires a Colorado Department of Regulatory Agencies insurance license. Actuarial, analytics, and risk management roles typically don't carry this requirement, making them more straightforward entry points for E-3 holders in the state.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 insurance jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
