Which legal companies sponsor E-3 visas in Colorado?
Colorado's strongest E-3 sponsors in the legal sector include large regional law firms headquartered in Denver, such as Holland & Hart and Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck, alongside corporate legal departments at energy companies, technology firms, and financial institutions with Colorado offices. Government contractors with legal compliance functions also file E-3 Labor Condition Applications. Sponsorship activity is visible through OFLC public disclosure data, which records certified LCA filings by employer and occupation.
Which cities in Colorado have the most legal E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Denver accounts for the vast majority of legal E-3 sponsorship activity in Colorado, driven by its concentration of AmLaw-ranked firms, in-house legal teams at Fortune 500 regional offices, and state and federal agency legal divisions. Boulder has a secondary market, particularly in technology and startup legal counsel roles. Colorado Springs sees occasional legal sponsorship tied to defense contractors and government-adjacent organizations, though volume is considerably lower than Denver.
What types of legal roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in Colorado?
E-3 sponsorship applies to specialty occupations requiring at least a U.S. bachelor's degree or its equivalent in a directly related field. In Colorado's legal sector, qualifying roles typically include associate attorney positions, in-house counsel, compliance officers, legal analysts, and contract specialists where a law degree or relevant legal graduate degree is a genuine requirement of the position. Roles where a degree is listed as preferred rather than required may not satisfy the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidance.
How do I find legal E-3 sponsorship jobs in Colorado?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find legal E-3 sponsorship jobs in Colorado, as the platform filters listings specifically for employers with verified E-3 LCA filing history in the legal sector. This removes the guesswork of cold-applying to firms that may not have sponsored E-3 visas before. You can filter by state and industry to surface Denver-area law firms and corporate legal departments that have already navigated the E-3 process for prior hires.
Are there any Colorado-specific considerations for legal E-3 sponsorship?
Colorado requires E-3 sponsors to file a Labor Condition Application with DOL that reflects the prevailing wage for the specific legal occupation and geographic area, which for Denver differs from rural Colorado counties. Attorneys seeking Colorado bar admission while on E-3 status should confirm character and fitness requirements with the Colorado Supreme Court Office of Attorney Regulation Counsel, as bar eligibility is separate from immigration status and involves its own timeline and procedures.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 legal jobs in Colorado?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
