Which chemicals & materials companies sponsor E-3 visas in New York?
New York-based chemicals and materials employers with documented E-3 visa and specialty-occupation visa sponsorship history include Olin Corporation, Honeywell Performance Materials, and BASF's regional operations. Specialty chemical producers concentrated along the Erie Canal corridor and in the Hudson Valley have also filed Labor Condition Applications for Australian professionals in chemistry, materials engineering, and process development roles. Sponsorship history varies by site and fiscal year, so researching individual employer LCA filings is worthwhile.
Which cities in New York have the most chemicals & materials E-3 sponsorship jobs?
The New York City metro area, including Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Long Island, concentrates the greatest number of chemicals and materials employers with sponsorship history, particularly in specialty coatings, advanced materials, and R&D. Buffalo and Rochester support materials manufacturing tied to the region's industrial base. Albany and the Capital Region have seen growth in semiconductor materials roles connected to New York's investment in chip fabrication infrastructure.
What types of chemicals & materials roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that typically meet the E-3 specialty occupation standard in this industry include process chemist, materials scientist, chemical engineer, polymer scientist, R&D chemist, quality assurance engineer, and environmental compliance engineer. Each role must require at minimum a bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as chemistry, chemical engineering, or materials science. Generalist positions where any degree is acceptable generally do not qualify. O*NET occupation profiles can help confirm degree requirements for specific job titles.
How do I find chemicals & materials E-3 sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for employers with verified E-3 visa sponsorship history, so you can search chemicals and materials roles in New York without sorting through companies that don't sponsor. The platform surfaces DOL Labor Condition Application data by employer and occupation, letting you see which New York companies have filed LCAs for relevant titles. Start your search on Migrate Mate and filter by visa type and industry to narrow results to confirmed sponsors.
Are there any state-specific or industry-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in New York's chemicals & materials sector?
New York's chemicals and materials sector is subject to the same federal E-3 requirements as any other state, but state environmental regulations and licensing requirements can affect role eligibility. Some positions involving hazardous materials handling or environmental compliance may require New York state professional engineer licensure, which can influence how an employer frames the specialty occupation requirement in the LCA. Employers in the semiconductor materials space around Albany may also need to satisfy additional federal compliance obligations tied to public funding.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 chemicals & materials jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
