Which animal care and pet services companies sponsor E-3 visas in New York?
Larger veterinary hospital groups with New York locations, such as BluePearl Pet Hospital, VCA Animal Hospitals, and Banfield Pet Hospital, have the infrastructure to manage visa sponsorship processes. Animal shelters affiliated with major nonprofits and specialty zoological institutions like the Wildlife Conservation Society also hire internationally for qualified roles. Smaller independent clinics sponsor less frequently due to the administrative requirements involved.
Which cities in New York have the most animal care and pet services E-3 sponsorship jobs?
New York City, particularly Manhattan and Brooklyn, concentrates the highest number of animal care and pet services employers given its dense population and high pet ownership rates. Long Island and Westchester County have active veterinary and specialty animal care markets. Albany and Buffalo have smaller but established veterinary communities, including academic veterinary programs at Cornell University that occasionally support specialist roles.
What types of animal care and pet services roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must normally require at least a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. In animal care and pet services, roles that commonly meet this threshold include veterinarians, veterinary specialists, animal behaviorists with relevant degrees, and zoologists. General grooming, kennel attendant, and non-degreed care positions typically do not qualify.
How do I find animal care and pet services E-3 sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers looking for E-3 sponsorship, and you can filter directly by visa type, industry, and state to surface animal care and pet services roles in New York. This saves significant time compared to manually screening employers for sponsorship willingness. Roles on Migrate Mate are categorized so you can identify positions that align with E-3 specialty occupation requirements in this industry.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for animal care and pet services E-3 sponsorship?
New York requires veterinarians to hold a license issued by the New York State Education Department before practicing, which is separate from the E-3 visa process itself. Australian veterinary degrees are generally well regarded, but NAVLE exam passage and state licensure must be confirmed prior to or alongside visa sponsorship. New York City also has specific regulations governing animal facilities and shelters that employers must comply with, which can affect hiring timelines.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 animal care & pet services jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
