Which transportation companies in New York sponsor E-3 visas?
New York employers with documented histories of E-3 and related work visa sponsorship in transportation include JetBlue Airways, headquartered in Long Island City, along with major logistics operators like UPS and FedEx, which maintain significant regional hubs. Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and the MTA have also sponsored skilled professionals in engineering and planning roles. Sponsorship availability varies by role, team, and hiring cycle.
Which cities in New York have the most transportation E-3 sponsorship jobs?
New York City concentrates the majority of transportation E-3 opportunities, particularly in aviation, freight, and logistics roles tied to JFK, LaGuardia, and Newark airport corridors. Buffalo holds a secondary cluster given its position as a cross-border freight hub between the U.S. and Canada. Albany attracts transportation planning and policy roles connected to state government infrastructure projects. Remote or hybrid arrangements have expanded access beyond these core markets.
What types of transportation roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship in New York?
E-3 sponsorship requires the role to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it must typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field. In New York's transportation sector, roles that commonly meet this standard include transportation engineers, logistics analysts, supply chain managers, aviation operations analysts, and urban mobility planners. General driving, warehouse, or trade roles do not qualify. The connection between your degree and the specific job function is what USCIS evaluates.
How do I find transportation E-3 sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is the most direct way to find transportation E-3 sponsorship jobs in New York, with listings filtered specifically for Australian professionals seeking E-3 eligible roles. Beyond browsing Migrate Mate, targeting employers with established HR infrastructure in logistics, aviation, and freight gives you the best chance of finding teams familiar with the E-3 process. Applying to roles that explicitly require a degree in your field strengthens your eligibility position.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for transportation E-3 sponsorship?
New York's dense regulatory environment means transportation employers, particularly in transit and freight, often work with established immigration counsel, which can smooth the E-3 sponsorship process. The Port of New York and New Jersey is one of the busiest in the United States, creating sustained demand for supply chain and logistics professionals. New York City's congestion pricing policies and ongoing MTA capital programs have also increased hiring in transportation planning and infrastructure roles.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 transportation jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
