Which transportation companies sponsor E-3 visas in California?
California-based transportation and logistics employers with a history of international hiring include Amazon Logistics, FedEx, UPS, BNSF Railway, Union Pacific, and port operators at the Port of Los Angeles and Port of Long Beach. Tech-enabled freight companies such as Flexport, headquartered in San Francisco, have also filed for specialty occupation visas for roles in operations, engineering, and supply chain.
Which cities in California have the most transportation E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Los Angeles and the surrounding Inland Empire corridor account for the highest concentration, driven by the nation's busiest port complex and major freight distribution networks. The Bay Area hosts logistics technology and supply chain firms. San Diego has growing freight and border logistics activity, while Sacramento is home to state transportation agency roles that occasionally require specialist qualifications.
What types of transportation roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that qualify for E-3 sponsorship must meet the specialty occupation standard, meaning a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific field is normally required for the position. In transportation, this typically includes transportation engineers, logistics analysts, supply chain managers, traffic planners, GIS analysts, and operations research specialists. General roles such as driver or warehouse associate do not qualify.
How do I find transportation E-3 sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters transportation roles in California by E-3 visa sponsorship, so you are not sorting through listings from employers who do not sponsor. You can browse by city, role type, and industry to find positions where the employer has an established sponsorship record, which saves significant time compared to unfiltered searches.
Are there any California-specific considerations for E-3 transportation roles?
California's strict environmental regulations have increased demand for specialists in sustainable transportation, electric fleet infrastructure, and emissions compliance, creating niche roles that are more likely to require specialized degrees and therefore qualify as specialty occupations. Additionally, California labor law requires employers to file a Labor Condition Application reflecting local prevailing wages, which in major metros like Los Angeles and San Francisco are among the highest in the country.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 transportation jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
