Company Description
It started with a simple idea: what if surgery could be less invasive and recovery less painful? Nearly 30 years later, that question still fuels everything we do at Intuitive. As a global leader in robotic-assisted surgery and minimally invasive care, our technologies—like the da Vinci surgical system and Ion—have transformed how care is delivered for millions of patients worldwide.
We’re a team of engineers, clinicians, and innovators united by one purpose: to make surgery smarter, safer, and more human. Every day, our work helps care teams perform with greater precision and patients recover faster, improving outcomes around the world.
The problems we solve demand creativity, rigor, and collaboration. The work is challenging, but deeply meaningful—because every improvement we make has the potential to change a life.
If you’re ready to contribute to something bigger than yourself and help transform the future of healthcare, you’ll find your purpose here.

Which medical devices companies sponsor E-3 visas in California?
California-based medical devices employers with established international hiring include Intuitive Surgical in Sunnyvale, Edwards Lifesciences in Irvine, Align Technology in San Jose, Becton Dickinson across multiple California sites, and Hologic in San Diego. Smaller Class II and Class III device manufacturers throughout San Diego's medical corridor and the Bay Area also sponsor E-3 visas, particularly for engineering and regulatory roles. Past sponsorship does not guarantee future availability.
Which cities in California have the most medical devices E-3 sponsorship jobs?
San Diego is California's densest medical devices hiring market, with a cluster of device and diagnostics companies in the Sorrento Valley and Torrey Pines areas. The South Bay and San Jose areas host surgical robotics and dental device companies. Irvine and Orange County are active for cardiovascular device roles. Los Angeles sees smaller but consistent hiring, primarily at larger health system-affiliated device firms.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
E-3 sponsorship requires a specialty occupation, meaning the role must normally require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. In medical devices, this typically covers mechanical, biomedical, and electrical engineering positions, regulatory affairs specialists, quality systems engineers, clinical applications engineers, and R&D scientists. General technician or manufacturing operator roles often do not meet the specialty occupation threshold, regardless of the applicant's qualifications.
How do I find medical devices E-3 sponsorship jobs in California?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for Australian professionals seeking U.S. roles with E-3 sponsorship, including medical devices positions in California. Filtering by state and industry on Migrate Mate surfaces employers who have filed Labor Condition Applications for E-3 workers, giving you a targeted list rather than sifting through postings from companies with no E-3 history. This is a more efficient starting point than searching general job boards where sponsorship status is rarely disclosed upfront.
Are there any California-specific considerations for E-3 medical devices sponsorship?
California's strict employment laws, including requirements around non-compete agreements (generally unenforceable under California law) and wage transparency, can affect how employers structure offers. For E-3 purposes, the prevailing wage on the Labor Condition Application must reflect California's regional wage levels, which tend to be higher than national averages. Biomedical device roles may also require familiarity with FDA 510(k) or PMA regulatory pathways, which California employers frequently treat as a core qualification.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 medical devices jobs in California?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
