Which medical devices companies sponsor E-3 visas in Massachusetts?
Massachusetts-based medical devices employers with documented histories of sponsoring work visas include Boston Scientific, Hologic, Insulet, Penumbra, Teleflex, and Stryker (which has a significant Massachusetts presence). Larger contract manufacturers and medtech startups concentrated in the Route 128 corridor and Kendall Square also file sponsorships for qualifying specialty occupation roles. Sponsorship patterns vary by hiring cycle, role, and business need.
Which cities in Massachusetts have the most medical devices E-3 sponsorship jobs?
Greater Boston and the Route 128 technology corridor, covering cities like Marlborough, Natick, Marlboro, Waltham, and Woburn, hold the highest concentration of medical devices employers in Massachusetts. Cambridge's Kendall Square also hosts a growing number of medtech and combination product companies. Worcester is emerging as a secondary hub, with several device manufacturers and UMass-affiliated research institutions.
What types of medical devices roles typically qualify for E-3 sponsorship?
Roles that commonly meet the specialty occupation standard for E-3 purposes in the medical devices sector include mechanical engineers, biomedical engineers, electrical engineers, regulatory affairs specialists, quality engineers, clinical research associates, and software engineers working on device software or embedded systems. The role must require at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field as a standard entry requirement, not simply as a preference.
How do I find medical devices E-3 sponsorship jobs in Massachusetts?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for this search. You can filter by visa type (E-3), industry (medical devices), and state (Massachusetts) to see roles where employers have indicated sponsorship willingness. Because E-3 sponsorship is employer-initiated, focusing on Massachusetts medtech companies with existing international hiring programs, as surfaced through Migrate Mate, meaningfully narrows your search compared to general job boards.
Are there state-specific or industry-specific considerations for E-3 sponsorship in Massachusetts medical devices?
Massachusetts employers in medical devices are subject to FDA regulatory frameworks that often create strong demand for degree-specific roles, which aligns well with the E-3 specialty occupation requirement. The state does not impose additional visa-related requirements beyond federal rules. However, medical devices roles involving clinical sites or hospital partners may require credentialing or background checks that can affect start timelines, independent of the visa process itself.
What is the prevailing wage for E-3 medical devices jobs in Massachusetts?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
