Which companies sponsor visas for events professionals in New York?
Major hospitality and entertainment organizations are among the most active sponsors for events roles in New York. Live Nation, Madison Square Garden Entertainment, Marriott International, Hyatt, and large convention management companies such as Freeman have documented histories of sponsoring H-1B visas for events coordinators and managers. Corporate event teams at financial institutions and media companies in Manhattan also sponsor for specialized production and logistics roles.
Which visa types are most common for events roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for events roles that require a bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as hospitality management, communications, or marketing. The O-1B can apply to individuals with extraordinary achievement in live entertainment production or creative event design. Australians working in events may qualify for the E-3 visa. The specific visa that applies depends entirely on the role, the employer, and the individual's qualifications.
Which cities in New York have the most events sponsorship jobs?
Manhattan concentrates the majority of events sponsorship activity in New York, driven by the density of hotels, convention venues, corporate headquarters, and entertainment companies. Brooklyn has grown as a hub for experiential and brand events. The Hamptons support a seasonal events market tied to hospitality and private event production. Outside New York City, Buffalo and Albany have smaller but active events markets connected to hospitality groups and convention centers.
How to find events visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is a job board built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship in the United States. You can filter directly for events roles in New York to see employers who are actively hiring and have sponsorship history. Because many events positions are project-based or seasonal, checking Migrate Mate regularly gives you visibility into new postings as they open across venues, agencies, and corporate event teams throughout the state.
Are there any state-specific considerations for events professionals seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York's prevailing wage requirements under H-1B rules reflect the high cost of living in the metro area, so employers must offer wages that meet Department of Labor standards for the specific role and location. Events roles classified as specialty occupations need a clear degree requirement tied to the position. New York also has strong hospitality and event management programs at institutions like NYU and Cornell, which create pipeline relationships between universities and sponsoring employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored events jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
