ABOUT THE ROLE
We are looking for an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative Procurement Manager to join our team. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Procure-to-Pay, this position sits within the Finance Operations function. In this role, you will lead complex contract negotiations, optimize our overarching procure-to-pay operations, and directly manage a team of two individuals. We operate in a fast-paced technology environment, so strong operational experience in the SaaS industry is highly preferred. You will also be the primary owner from the Procurement side of our contracting and purchasing systems. We utilize Ironclad for our Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM), which is fully integrated with Coupa for our procure-to-pay workflows. A candidate with hands-on operational experience navigating and optimizing these two systems will thrive in this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of procurement and contracts administration professionals, providing cross-functional guidance on purchasing workflows, negotiation strategies, operational efficiency, company policies, and career growth.
Complex Negotiations: Review, and negotiate a wide variety of commercial agreements, including SaaS agreements, Master Services Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs), and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs).
System Optimization: Act as the subject matter expert for our contracting and purchasing tools. Oversee the contract workflow in Ironclad and ensure seamless integration and operational data flow with Coupa for our procure-to-pay (P2P) processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with Legal, Finance, Security, and internal business stakeholders to ensure contracts and vendor purchases align with company risk tolerance, budget, and business objectives.
Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to streamline both the contract lifecycle and the procurement intake process, reducing bottlenecks and improving the speed of execution without compromising on risk management or operational excellence.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Supply Chain, or a related field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience in procurement, contract management, commercial operations, or a related field, with a heavy emphasis on operational workflows and negotiating complex agreements.
People Management: Proven experience directly managing and coaching direct reports, with the ability to lead professionals across both procurement and contract administration functions.
Negotiation Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills with a deep understanding of commercial legal terms, risk allocation, and standard contracting principles.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex legal and procurement jargon into clear, actionable business advice for stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- SaaS Industry Experience: Strong background working within the SaaS or software industry, with a solid understanding of software licensing, subscription models, and privacy/data security standards.
- System Expertise: Hands-on, administrative-level experience with Ironclad (or a similar CLM) and Coupa (or a similar P2P system). Experience managing the integration and data mapping between the two is a massive plus.
- Agility: Ability to thrive in a high-growth, fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities.
For candidates based in the United States, the pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $121,100- $151,500 with an expected On Target Earnings (OTE) between $134,700- $168,300 (including bonus or commission). Which companies sponsor visas for procurement roles in New York?
Large multinationals with significant New York footprints are the most consistent sponsors for procurement roles. JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Pfizer, IBM, and Con Edison have all filed H-1B petitions for procurement and supply chain positions. Major consulting firms with New York offices, including Deloitte and Accenture, also sponsor procurement analysts and sourcing managers regularly. Mid-sized manufacturers and hospital systems round out the sponsoring employer pool.
Which visa types are most common for procurement roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa for procurement professionals in New York, particularly for roles requiring a degree in supply chain management, business, or engineering. Candidates with advanced degrees may qualify for the H-1B master's cap exemption. TN visas are available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in certain qualifying business roles. L-1B visas are an option for intracompany transfers moving into procurement positions at multinational firms.
Which cities in New York have the most procurement sponsorship jobs?
New York City accounts for the vast majority of procurement visa sponsorship activity in the state, driven by its concentration of financial institutions, pharmaceutical companies, and global consulting firms. Albany generates procurement roles in government contracting and healthcare administration. Buffalo has sponsorship activity in manufacturing and logistics, particularly through large industrial employers. Remote-eligible procurement roles posted by New York-headquartered firms also represent a growing share of listings.
How to find procurement visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates and filters procurement job listings in New York to those where employers have a demonstrated history of visa sponsorship. Rather than sorting through thousands of generic postings, you can browse roles verified against H-1B disclosure data. Setting up alerts for procurement and supply chain categories within New York helps surface new listings as they appear, which matters given how quickly sponsored roles get filled.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for procurement visa sponsorship?
New York's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B roles are set at the federal level using DOL wage data, but New York City's high cost of living means prevailing wages for procurement titles there tend to fall in higher wage tiers than in upstate markets. Procurement roles tied to New York City's financial services sector often require security clearances or FINRA-related compliance knowledge, which can affect how employers structure sponsorship for these positions.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored procurement jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
