Sponsorship is most common at companies with established HR and legal infrastructure to manage the petition process.
Which visa types are most common for sales support specialist roles in New York?

Which cities in New York have the most sales support specialist sponsorship jobs?
New York City, and Manhattan in particular, accounts for the large majority of sales support specialist sponsorship opportunities in the state. Midtown and lower Manhattan host the highest concentration of technology, finance, and enterprise software employers who hire internationally. Buffalo and Albany have smaller but growing employer bases, primarily in healthcare technology and government-adjacent software companies that occasionally sponsor for this role type.
Are there any New York-specific considerations for sales support specialists pursuing visa sponsorship?
New York employers filing H-1B Labor Condition Applications must pay the prevailing wage as determined by the Department of Labor for the specific metropolitan area, and New York City wages tend to be among the highest prevailing wage benchmarks in the country. New York also has a large university system that produces candidates on OPT, which means employers in the city are generally familiar with work authorization requirements and the sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored sales support specialist jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
