Which companies sponsor visas for systems analysts in New York?
Financial institutions and large technology firms account for a significant share of systems analyst sponsorships in New York. JPMorgan Chase, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs, IBM, and Verizon have consistent H-1B visa filing histories for this occupation. Large healthcare networks such as NewYork-Presbyterian and Mount Sinai also sponsor systems analysts, particularly for roles supporting electronic health record and infrastructure projects.
Which visa types are most common for systems analyst roles in New York?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for systems analysts in New York, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, or a related field. Candidates from Australia may pursue the E-3 visa, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify under the TN visa category, both of which bypass the H-1B lottery.
Which cities in New York have the most systems analyst sponsorship jobs?
New York City is by far the largest market, driven by Wall Street financial firms, media companies, and technology employers concentrated in Manhattan and Brooklyn. Albany sees demand from state government agencies and public sector contractors. Buffalo and Rochester have smaller but active markets tied to manufacturing technology, regional banking, and university-affiliated healthcare systems.
How to find systems analyst visa sponsorship jobs in New York?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse systems analyst openings in New York without sorting through roles that won't support international candidates. You can narrow results to New York employers and review which visa types each company has historically sponsored, saving significant time in your job search.
Are there any state-specific considerations for systems analysts seeking sponsorship in New York?
New York's Department of Labor publishes prevailing wage data that directly affects H-1B applications, since employers must certify they're paying the required wage for the region. New York City wages are benchmarked higher than upstate regions, so the city versus upstate distinction matters in your application. Several major New York universities, including NYU, Columbia, and Cornell Tech, also feed graduates into local employer pipelines that are accustomed to sponsoring international hires.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored systems analyst jobs in New York?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
