Which companies sponsor visas for audiologists in North Carolina?
Large health systems are the most active sponsors for audiologist roles in North Carolina. Atrium Health, Duke University Health System, UNC Health, and Novant Health have histories of sponsoring H-1B and employment-based green card petitions for clinical staff, including audiologists. Specialty ENT practices and university-affiliated audiology programs at institutions like UNC Chapel Hill and East Carolina University also occasionally sponsor qualifying candidates.
Which visa types are most common for audiologist roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B visa is the most common pathway for internationally trained audiologists in North Carolina, as audiology qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at minimum a doctoral degree (Au.D.). Employers with a demonstrated need may also pursue PERM-based employment-based green card sponsorship. Candidates already holding TN status who are Canadian or Mexican nationals licensed as audiologists may also be eligible, as audiology is listed under TN qualifying occupations.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most audiologist sponsorship jobs?
Charlotte, Raleigh, and Durham account for the highest concentration of audiology sponsorship opportunities in North Carolina, driven by major hospital systems and academic medical centers in those metros. Greensboro and Winston-Salem also have active audiology hiring through regional health systems and ENT groups. Chapel Hill's proximity to UNC's audiology programs creates additional clinical and research-adjacent openings with sponsorship potential.
How to find audiologist visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters audiologist job listings in North Carolina specifically to roles where employers have a sponsorship history, saving you from applying to positions that won't support visa candidates. You can search by city or health system and review employer-level sponsorship data alongside each listing. This is particularly useful for Au.D. holders navigating the H-1B process or candidates exploring green card sponsorship with North Carolina health employers.
Are there state-specific considerations for audiologists seeking visa sponsorship in North Carolina?
North Carolina requires audiologists to hold a state license issued by the North Carolina State Board of Examiners for Speech and Language Pathologists and Audiologists before practicing independently. Employers sponsoring H-1B petitions for audiologist roles must certify a prevailing wage through the DOL's OFLC Wage Search, which reflects regional wage data for the specific work location. Au.D. credential verification is typically required as part of both the licensure and sponsorship process.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored audiologist jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
