Which companies in North Carolina sponsor visas for cloud solutions architects?
Several large technology and enterprise employers in North Carolina have established H-1B visa sponsorship histories for cloud solutions architect roles. Cisco, IBM, Red Hat, Lenovo, and SAS Institute are among the more active sponsors based in or near the Research Triangle Park area. Charlotte-based financial institutions including Bank of America and Wells Fargo also sponsor cloud architecture roles tied to their digital infrastructure teams.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions architect roles in North Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud solutions architects in North Carolina, as the role typically qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related technical field. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may qualify for TN visa status under the USMCA. Those with extraordinary ability or advanced research backgrounds may explore O-1 visa or EB-1 pathways.
Which cities in North Carolina have the most cloud solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
The Research Triangle area, covering Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, concentrates the largest share of cloud solutions architect sponsorship activity in North Carolina, driven by Research Triangle Park's dense cluster of technology and enterprise firms. Charlotte is the second major market, particularly for roles embedded in financial services and fintech. Smaller but growing activity exists in cities like Cary and Morrisville, which border the Triangle corridor.
How to find cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in North Carolina?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically by visa sponsorship availability, making it straightforward to browse cloud solutions architect roles in North Carolina without sorting through positions that don't support international candidates. The platform surfaces roles from employers who have sponsored the H-1B and similar visas historically, which is particularly useful for targeting the Research Triangle Park and Charlotte markets where sponsorship activity is concentrated.
Are there any North Carolina-specific considerations for cloud solutions architects pursuing visa sponsorship?
North Carolina's Research Triangle universities, including NC State, Duke, and UNC Chapel Hill, produce a strong pipeline of technology graduates, meaning employers in the area are generally familiar with OPT and H-1B processes for international candidates. Roles tied to defense contractors or federal agencies near Fort Liberty or Research Triangle Park may carry security clearance requirements that can complicate sponsorship, so it's worth verifying clearance expectations before applying.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions architect jobs in North Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
