Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions architects in South Carolina?
Employers with established visa sponsorship track records for cloud solutions architects in South Carolina include BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina, Blackbaud, Michelin North America, SCANA (now Dominion Energy South Carolina), and Booz Allen Hamilton's Columbia operations. Large financial institutions and healthcare technology firms in the state tend to have formal HR and immigration processes that support H-1B sponsorship more consistently than smaller companies.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions architect roles in South Carolina?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud solutions architects in South Carolina, as the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, information systems, or a related field. L-1B visas are also used when candidates are transferring within a multinational company. O-1A visas are an option for architects with documented extraordinary achievement in cloud technology.
Which cities in South Carolina have the most cloud solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Columbia leads South Carolina for cloud solutions architect sponsorship activity, driven by state government IT modernization, University of South Carolina technology contracts, and large insurance and healthcare employers. The I-77 corridor towns of Rock Hill and Fort Mill see significant demand due to their proximity to Charlotte's technology market. Charleston is an emerging secondary market, particularly in defense contracting and logistics technology.
How to find cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in South Carolina?
Migrate Mate is a job board specifically built for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship, and it filters cloud solutions architect roles by state so you can search South Carolina opportunities directly. Because sponsorship willingness is often not stated in standard job postings, Migrate Mate curates employers with verified sponsorship histories, which saves significant time when targeting roles in South Carolina's healthcare IT, financial services, and manufacturing technology sectors.
Are there state-specific considerations for cloud solutions architects pursuing sponsorship in South Carolina?
South Carolina's prevailing wage determinations for cloud solutions architects are set at the metropolitan statistical area level, so wages in Columbia and Charleston are calculated separately from the broader state average. South Carolina's research university system, particularly Clemson University and the University of South Carolina, generates a pipeline of computer science graduates and associated employer relationships that can support OPT-to-H-1B transitions for cloud architecture roles.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions architect jobs in South Carolina?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
