Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions architects in Maryland?
Federal IT contractors dominate Maryland sponsorship for cloud solutions architects. Booz Allen Hamilton, Leidos, SAIC, and Peraton have consistent H-1B visa filing histories for cloud-focused roles. Commercial technology firms and consulting practices based in the Bethesda and Columbia corridors also sponsor regularly. Sponsorship is not guaranteed, and each employer evaluates individual petitions based on role eligibility and business need.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions architect roles in Maryland?
The H-1B is the most common visa for cloud solutions architects in Maryland, given the specialty occupation requirement that typically aligns well with bachelor's or advanced degrees in computer science or information systems. L-1B visas apply when candidates transfer within a multinational company. TN visa status is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying computer-related occupations, subject to specific eligibility criteria.
Which cities in Maryland have the most cloud solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Bethesda, Rockville, and Columbia generate the highest concentration of cloud solutions architect sponsorship opportunities in Maryland, largely driven by federal contracting firms clustered along the I-270 technology corridor and Route 29. Baltimore also has a growing presence, particularly through cybersecurity and health IT companies. Annapolis and Greenbelt see activity tied to government-adjacent technology work.
How to find cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Maryland?
Migrate Mate filters job listings specifically for visa sponsorship, making it straightforward to identify Maryland employers actively hiring cloud solutions architects who can support H-1B or other work visa petitions. Rather than sorting through general postings, Migrate Mate surfaces roles where sponsorship is already part of the hiring process, which is particularly useful given how competitive the federal IT corridor around Bethesda and Columbia can be.
Are there state-specific factors that affect cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship in Maryland?
Maryland's heavy reliance on federal contracting introduces a meaningful consideration: many cloud solutions architect roles require security clearances, which are generally unavailable to candidates on certain nonimmigrant visa statuses. This narrows the pool of sponsoring employers compared to purely commercial tech markets. However, unclassified federal IT work and commercial cloud projects through firms in the Baltimore-Washington metro remain accessible pathways for sponsored candidates.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions architect jobs in Maryland?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
