Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions architects in Illinois?
Large consulting firms and enterprises are the most active sponsors in Illinois. Accenture, Infosys, Cognizant, and Tata Consultancy Services regularly file H-1B visa petitions for cloud solutions architects in the Chicago area. Financial services firms like CME Group and Northern Trust also sponsor for cloud roles, as do technology companies such as Motorola Solutions and CDW, which are headquartered in the state.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions architect roles in Illinois?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud solutions architects in Illinois, given the role's classification as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. Some candidates also enter through the L-1A or L-1B intracompany transfer visa when moving within a multinational employer. Australian citizens may qualify for the E-3 visa as an alternative to the H-1B.
Which cities in Illinois have the most cloud solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Chicago accounts for the overwhelming majority of cloud solutions architect sponsorship jobs in Illinois. The Loop, River North, and the Fulton Market tech corridor are particularly dense with consulting, finance, and enterprise technology employers. Suburban locations including Schaumburg, Downers Grove, and Lisle also have a meaningful presence, driven by large corporate campuses for companies like Motorola Solutions, McDonald's, and various IT services firms.
How to find cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Illinois?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international job seekers and filters cloud solutions architect roles in Illinois by confirmed visa sponsorship availability. Rather than sorting through general job boards and guessing which postings are open to sponsored candidates, Migrate Mate surfaces roles where employers have demonstrated willingness to sponsor. You can filter by location, role type, and visa category to focus your search on Illinois-based cloud solutions architect opportunities.
Are there state-specific considerations for cloud solutions architects seeking sponsorship in Illinois?
Illinois employers sponsoring H-1B workers must pay the Department of Labor prevailing wage for the specific cloud solutions architect role and geographic area, which is determined by the Chicago-Naperville-Elgin metropolitan region for most positions. The University of Illinois system and Northwestern University produce a strong pipeline of candidates in computer science and engineering, meaning competition for sponsored roles in Illinois can be meaningful, particularly at large consulting and financial services employers.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions architect jobs in Illinois?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
