Which companies sponsor visas for cloud solutions architects in Iowa?
Principal Financial Group, Wells Fargo, EMC Insurance, and Nationwide Insurance are among the most active sponsors for cloud solutions architect roles in Des Moines. John Deere's technology operations in Waterloo and Ames also sponsors H-1B visa petitions for cloud and infrastructure roles. Global consulting firms such as Cognizant and Infosys, which staff large enterprise clients in Iowa, have consistent H-1B sponsorship histories for this role category.
Which visa types are most common for cloud solutions architect roles in Iowa?
The H-1B is the most common visa category for cloud solutions architects in Iowa, as the role consistently qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field. L-1B intracompany transferee visas are also used when a candidate already works for a multinational employer with an Iowa office. Candidates with Canadian or Mexican citizenship may also qualify under the TN visa category for computer systems analyst roles.
Which cities in Iowa have the most cloud solutions architect sponsorship jobs?
Des Moines accounts for the majority of cloud solutions architect sponsorship activity in Iowa, driven by its concentration of financial services, insurance, and technology companies. Cedar Rapids is a secondary market, home to employers including Transamerica and Quaker Oats parent company operations with established IT departments. Ames and Iowa City see smaller volumes tied to university research partnerships and affiliated technology contractors.
How to find cloud solutions architect visa sponsorship jobs in Iowa?
Migrate Mate is built specifically for international candidates seeking visa sponsorship and filters cloud solutions architect roles by state, making it straightforward to browse open positions in Iowa. Because sponsorship availability is not always disclosed on general job postings, using a platform like Migrate Mate that focuses exclusively on sponsoring employers saves significant time. Are there state-specific considerations for cloud solutions architects pursuing sponsorship in Iowa?
Iowa's prevailing wage requirements for H-1B petitions are determined by the Department of Labor's occupational wage data for each metropolitan area, so Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Ames each carry distinct prevailing wage levels for cloud solutions architect positions. Iowa State University and the University of Iowa produce computer science graduates who feed local technology pipelines, and some employers have established university recruiting relationships that extend to international students on OPT before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What is the prevailing wage for sponsored cloud solutions architect jobs in Iowa?
U.S. employers sponsoring a visa must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is what workers in the same role, area, and experience level typically earn. The Department of Labor sets this rate to make sure companies aren't hiring foreign workers simply because they'd accept lower pay than a U.S. worker. It varies by job title, location, and experience. You can look up current prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the OFLC Wage Search page.
